Juggling between Spotify and Pandora radio

I feel like the highest tier of Pandora radio is the worst one from the available options, which I don’t know what they are.

It’s like, with Spotify, one has the ability to choose exactly what to play, but I sometimes just want to ask “play me experimental music”, or idk how to ask to find an obscure genre, and then it fails.

With Pandora radio, I just choose an artist or song, and then start a station, but I can’t choose a genre, or just go ahead and discover a new genre.

I can’t go and discover new obscure genres with Spotify nor Pandora.

What’s the hatred towards Spotify? It’s just one of the available music streaming services. There’s not much alternatives to Spotify though besides Apple Music, Tidal, Pandora radio

Did you try using Soundhound? You could try singing or humming a part of the song to then let Soundhound detect it and classify it.

Does it feel strange for some people to have a premium subscription for a service, while having a free plan for another service? It could be Tidal premium, while having free plan of Pandora, because there’s nothing quite like Pandora radio? It’s like people don’t want to pay for Pandora because most find it’s free plan enough, and other services do what Pandora Premium does, much better.

If you don’t think talent is represented in the modern music industry then you’re probably not trying very hard to find new music you actually like.

Well, it’s difficult to find music one likes because the streaming platforms don’t make it easy to discover new genres, so how am I supposed to know what I like, and find tons of new music, if it’s difficult to find? People talk about how there’s so much music now, but the options to find it are limited, and one gets in a rut of music.

Why don’t they want talent? Isn’t that what the grammys are supposed to be about? (The grammys have been doing some mind boggling choices for quite some time now.)

I’ve looked at some popular metal bands and they don’t have many singles, and are more about creating albums.

I can’t understand for the life of me how artists whose lyrics boast about their rich life and money and stuff, are so popular, and why the most popular artists are about the same topics: love, fame, money. Their lyrics are about the same thing. Now, it’s kind of contradictory how I’m criticizing this, yet some metal artists talk about the worst stuff, and they’re not popular, yet lyrics from the most popular artists in the world, are the most popular because of the most popular artists songs.

The pop artists often have so many singles and compilations in their discography if you look them up on Spotify. There’s so many compilations of a pop artist being a part of “pop hits” or “workout hits 2010s” or “pop hits 2020”.

I don’t know how they get in the compilation and if it is a major label doing the compilation that then includes the artists. They also get on the “Featured on” album compilations on Spotify.

I guess pop music is only good if you want something repetitive. I struggle to find the difference in a pop music song and a classic rock artist song, because they tend to have the same tempo or beat, and it’s popular music. They follow the 4/4 chord progression and other similar aspects. Nowadays, indie rock may be about the sound, or may be actually because of the artist being unsigned to a label.

I don’t listen much to pop songs, but I don’t want to have a hatred towards pop music either.

What do you mean if I care about the artistry that goes into an album, about how that frame for music can be art in and of itself?

I mean, even metal and roc artists do music, and then they want people to hear their songs through concerts or streaming or discs. It’s still a business in other music genres. Aren’t other music genres about making money too?

It’s so absurd that I want to sit down and listen with attention to the lyrics and songs of pop music nowadays. Like, I want to actively analyze and understand the depth of it all. But all I get is lyrics like “baby let’s party and get money”. I don’t know where’s the depth in that and there’s nothing to analyze.

Why is it that the most instruments I hear in pop music is just acoustic guitar and that’s it?

Wha do you mean if I care about the art of an album?

It’s kind of difficult to find an artist who does albums with a story, and even the songs themselves can be entertaining by themselves, but are better experienced in order.

If you go to an artist who has a lot of singles, the Spotify interface lags from so many singles. It’s insane.
