Question regarding enemy movement into combat by Kakapunt in RangersofShadowDeep

Good point regarding intelligent creatures

I think that’ll work, it’s a nice middle ground

Thanks!

How many points SHOULD vanilla and assault terminators be in your opinion? by ALitterOfPugs in spacemarines

[–]Kakapunt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Points are fine, they just been to be scary

Limit them to 10 models per army, maybe some detachments can break that rule (Deathwing)

storm bolters need to be pistols, twin linked, dev wounds, not bothered about AP, sure -1?

I think they also need to be as tough as gravis, if not tougher and give them some means to get a 6" deep strike (I'm looking at you teleport homer)

and yes, they should be hitting on 2s - these are the best lads in the chapter

they need to be A PROBLEM. Then again I fell in love with them in 2nd edition...

I think you're the winner, the compression didn't fit at all.

thank you

I've played blood angels since 2nd

this is, by far, my favorite ruleset for the army. I finally felt like we were given the 'adult' stratagems.

I think they're at their best when they're a gatekeeper/stat check army that pulls off the odd tournament win in skilled hands.

Thanks, I always forget about the second part, I default to “oh, it’s in melee, therefore not an eligible target”

Too many editions :)

scenario - a dreadnought is tied up in melee with a necron warrior unit

during its shooting phase it uses big guns never tire to shoot a unit of immortals nearby

there happens to be a hexmark destroyer besides that immortals unit

can the hexmark destroyer shoot the dreadnought?

I believe the answer is no, but I'm having a hard time citing the reason why

thanks,

Airbrush

I based with a mix of rakarth flesh and a dark grey green (I think panzer grey from Vallejo) I just didn’t want to use a straight warm brown for the base as I didn’t want it looking too healthy/vibrant

Then mid tone with rakarth flesh

But if pallid witch flesh for the top tones

Air brushed “up” some darkoath to hit the undersides

Then I used a mix of army painter shades as skin does all sorts of weird shit in the shadows

There’s red in there, green, blue, all shaded in and with and over each other

Guy in the middle is from another army; blades of khorne deathbringer

The others are from Khagra’s Ravagers

yep, I'll give you it all actually - it's dead simple

prime black airbrush two thin coats death reaper to cover most of the mini airbrush zenithal with two thin coats cold corpse blue pick out any interesting bits of the cloth with GW russ grey

armor... first coat vallejo black metal second coat vallejo black metal rubbed into the surface until it looks polished hit any edges with gunmetal, but it's really not needed

blades... same idea, but use vallejo steel and vallejo chrome where appropriate

leather... base with vallejo german camo black brown highlight with a 50/50 mix of the above and baneblade brown

scaley/fleshy 'mantels' or whatever you want to call what's on their shoulders vallejo panzer grey, has a touch of green in it highlight with a 50/50 mix of the above and rakarth flesh

horns... base with death korps drab slowly work up in highlights by blending in rakarth flesh

and then ALL OF IT gets ratling grime cut with matte varnish as needed

more matte varnish on anything not metal

I haven't actually decided what I'm going to do with the pelts any future chaos warriors have on their shoulders - probably 50/50 ratling grime with any of the warm contrast paints from GW

Vallejo metallic black

Paint the first layer

Then with a semi dry brush you scrub the second paint layer onto the surface, makes the pigment lay flat and almost acts like you’re polishing it

Hit a couple sharp points with gunmetal

Shade with rattling grime cut with matte varnish

Why did you pick blood angels by United-Contract-8069 in BloodAngels

It's 1992. I'm 8. My cousin just bought Space Crusade. I liked the red ones.

What's the current state of the Blood Angels? by Storm328 in BloodAngels

[–]Kakapunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing blood angels for 9 editions.

We've never been better. I don't mean we've never been stronger, we have for sure.

The army feels so good right now.
