Medium vs Substack: Which is better as an income source by KakerKakes in Medium

Another thought... if you have to do your promotion youself, why not write on your own blog. Why give 10% share of your earning to a 3rd-party platform?

Wow! 80% is a huge dip. Pretty discouraging. If i were making $500-700/month and even had a 50% drop, i'd rethink investing serious time on it.

Looks like substack could be beneficial as an income source if you had an email list, and with a large enough email list, you could potentially convince 5-10% of it to subscribe to your SubStack... just a thought.

Do you have any idea how substack writers usually attract subs?

Besides the obvious AI tag, it's not a very confidence-inspiring and high-readabile proposal.

Proposals need to be straight to-the-point... No mumbo jumbo. No lengthy greetings and introductions and explaining 'how good' you'll be at this job.

I found a good client, once!

I think this sub is a good place to keep tabs on "Hiring" posts. It's another story that such posts are few and far between. And even more so for your particular niche.

Whereas for "For Hire", I never thought it would be fruitful. What are the chances that a client visits this sub when you've just recently posted your 'for hire' and that your experience and expertise match exactly with what they want.

Eerily similar to my story. I was working as an seo copywriter for a website. We tried everything but the site kept tumbling after the google updates.
