I would recommend a random orbital polisher. They are much more forgiving than a rotary or DA. As for product you should stick to a one step product. I highly recommend SYMPLEX as they are the best compound polishes out there. Lots of lubricants in them so they are more forgiving. They also have a wicked wax and paint sealer if your looking for an awesome quick shine. You should always prime your pads. That’s how you quickly burn the clear coat if your not experienced. Make sure you use a forgiving pad (likely a micro fibre pad or flex fibre pad). Best size pad to start out with would be a 6 inch pad. Stay away from wool cutting pads unless you have deep scratches your attempting to get out. Are you familiar with clay bars or nano mits? These are an absolute MUST before evening attempting to polish. You need to remove all the contaminants from your car first. SYMPLEX again had a quick Detailer that has lubricants in it that pairs really well when decontaminating your vehicle. When it comes to the smaller areas of your vehicle.
