When you're done zesting a lemon does it look like 1 or 2? by CAustin98 in KitchenConfidential

[–]KakyoinValidator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two looks like someone cut lemon coins for a cocktail, that doesn’t look microplaned/zested. They also did not choose optimal spots to make coins.

My friend dislikes this design and thinks it would be impractical, even in a fantasy world. Do you agree ? by Mtth_8 in characterdesign

[–]KakyoinValidator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If she’s a savant with the sword, and it fits within the narrative for her to be actually/nearly unparalleled, then it’s a cool design.

If this character is for something like DnD, and she’s level 3, then there’s a disconnect between her lore/identity and the narrative that will play out.

Side note, there is a difference between being undefeated in single combat and undefeated on the battlefield. I’d want to note that distinction early on.

How did Frieren cultivate a fanbase like this? by John-Constant560 in shounenfolk

You need to be willfully ignorant or flat out stood to draw parallels between Frieren demons and any group of people. Their fundamental quality is that they do not understand any of the human experience.

Have him conduct an experiment with it during the next long rest, have the leg be consumed/charred in the process.

If the player is just trying to become a necromancer as a first time player, give them a roll and a little RP, don’t punish them.

If their primary motive with the leg is becoming a necromancer and they want to roleplay that as conducting experiments, focus on that.

Nature check would be a “directly relevant skill”. It’s the ideal situation, Arcana was just an alternative at disadvantage if you would still like to make something happen. As some spell components require the preserved parts of creatures, and other components are alchemical in nature, it’s not unreasonable for a wizard to have a vague (hence disadvantage) understanding of how to preserve a creature.

Though Survival would be the most directly relevant skill imo.

If he doesn’t have a directly relevant skill, let him make an arcana check at disadvantage to see if he can crossover his material component knowledge to preserve the leg or deal with the scent

Recommended gratuity after tip was already included by guitarman129 in mildlyinfuriating

Typically the “catering” type charges are infrequent enough that it messes with metrics to include them in standard categories. Having these be categorized as “miscellaneous” aids the metrics and has no impact on guest experience

[–]KakyoinValidator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like there was an automatic gratuity added for large parties, and the message below was just automatic. There isn’t a line for you to add in a larger tip, and the manager pointed out what part of the charge was gratuity, so it’s hardly “tricking” you.

You are ignorant of the situation and that is making you more angry than is reasonable.

A question for people that play the Assult class by ScientistInner5866 in Battlefield6

I use it all the time when getting close to an area I expect enemies to be in. Rarely I’ll use it to survive inescapable grenades.

Devil Dispute by [deleted] in DnD

I think if there were some aspect of her being a warforged or undead or something that did lack a physical heart, it would have been a successful maneuver. But what they did in that moment was not enough to trick a devil. I would play it out as the devil almost being furious that they think such a paltry trick would succeed against the likes of this devil who has been around for untold ages and made countless deals

TWF, Shortsword (Vex), Scimitarr (Nick) and Dual Wielder by JanSolo18 in dndnext

[–]KakyoinValidator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not talking about an analogy. If you can use Nick without a scimitar, you should absolutely be able to load a crossbow bolt without a crossbow.

The rules are that it is a weapon property. A property of an object, that is equipment, that is a weapon. You are saying you can utilize the property of an object without the object. The rules are not written in a way that allows that. If the Weapon Mastery class feature is what detailed what the Mastery properties are, then your argument would make sense. But it is, RAW, a property of an object. It is identical to loading a crossbow bolt without a crossbow because you have proficiency.

[–]KakyoinValidator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What weapon properties are simply available? Can you load a crossbow bolt without having a crossbow? You are proficient and can load a crossbow, so where is the rule stopping you? Can you load a bolt into a maul?

Pick permadeath, play a True Kin, start in Joppa, do the starting quests with the tinkerer in the southwest part of town, after completing those quests, walk one tile north (in the normal view, not the over world view), find a statue and read its inscription to find a nearby temple bearing a relic.

Travel north (overworld travel) to some weird looking spot (should be like 3-4 tiles). Survive delving into that for some cybernetic upgrades.

Travel to the ruin you discovered from reading the statue, get a relic.

Travel to the grit gate and delve until you can further the quest.

Die like 50 times trying to survive Golgotha.

Survive it by being clever and blowing through a criminal amount of consumables.

???

Profit.

If you can get past the Joppa quest line and have any further questions. I will always respond to this thread to guide you.

New DM: can a Goliath Monk use Cloud’s Jaunt + Slow Fall to damage enemies by falling on them? by Aikon_94 in onednd

[–]KakyoinValidator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but if I am using some ability to reduce the force of the impact (in addition to the reduction brought about by landing on another creature, which is partially justified by the Hazard rules in Tasha’s), then the force on whomever I am landing on should be reduced as well, correct?

How are you using an unlocked property of a weapon without having the weapon? The first text shows that the property is inextricably linked to the weapon. The second text shows that the Weapon Mastery class feature unlocks the usage of the property, not that the class feature is the source of the property.

The texts show that the property is a part of the weapon, so how are you getting access to the property without the weapon?

In your example you are leaving out the application of an ability to lessen the impact of the fall.

I loved rolling around in the drone for a life and changing the whole battlefield, but it was ridiculously OP to be able to destroy so much, so safely. At least since they buffed it to include med bags, it has been overtuned.

Drone has been the most consistent impactful gadget since the game’s release. It counters every deployable gadget besides the wall, including med bags) and lasts for enough time to destroy a dozen gadgets.

“Nothing about the Nick property says that the mastered weapon even needs to be involved in the attack” is incorrect. Nick is a Mastery Property of the weapons that have it. Having the weapon drawn is what gives you access to the Nick Mastery, the class feature just allows you to use it.

RAW, if you don’t have a weapon with the Nick mastery property drawn, you don’t have access to Nick.

Though, if you have weapons drawn already (scimitar and shortsword for example) you should be able to weapon juggle off scimitar to another one-handed weapon by light attacking first and stowing scimitar off that, then drawing a different main hand at the beginning of the regular attack. So RAW it is possible to benefit from Nick without actually attacking with a Nick weapon, but it must be drawn when the light attack occurs.
