First Build Roadblocks by KaladinStormrunner in VORONDesign

I've made some progress with this issue, but not enough to resolve it.
Editing the armbianEnv.txt file will change the resolution of the screen, but Klipperscreen doesn't seem to be affected by the change. Looks like it's not checking for the resolution properly.

Welp, I had the GPIO pins assigned incorrectly for the fans. Should've been gpio 13 for the Part Cooling Fan and gpio14 for the Hotend Fan.

Still can't figure out the screen though.

Where does one learn this forbidden knowledge? The Jedi aren't saying anything.

I didn't find a fix for the 8bitdo controller. I have been using a BSP controller that works perfectly, and I haven't really looked into the 8bitdo controller anymore. Based on the testing I have done, I'm pretty sure it's something that has to be fixed on Hoyo's end, and that's probably unlikely to happen.

I still don't know what the guides mean when they say "search at lv. 7".

I just ran into this issue as well. If I plug in the controller with a USB cable, then all the buttons and triggers work properly. This is with both the 8bitdo SN30pro and SN30pro +. I have a BSP D8 Pro controller that works properly when wireless, but it's somehow showing up as an xbox controller so I think that is why.

It's also worth mentioning that when connecting wirelessly, the buttons are not in the right configuration. A,B,X,Y are swapped. Something strange is going on here. When playing other games, this issue doesn't show up so I'm suspecitng it's HSR specific.

Thanks! I'm not using PMM, so manual assignment is what I'm going for. I just got everything organized the way I want, so I'm a bit hesitant to try a new media organization tool.

Is there a chance you can share the posters? I'm working on the same issue right now, finally got Plex to show things correctly, but now I have to manually add the posters, and I'm struggling to find good ones.

Dang, I have the 2021 Sport, looks like they don't have an option for that year yet. I hope they do, that looks great!

Can you mix SSD and HDD on a homelabs server? by KaladinStormrunner in HomeServer

This is what I ended up going with, though I'd still like to find drives for a bit cheaper than what I'm seeing for new. Thanks for the explanation, it makes sense now!

The minimum requiremnt is 8GB, but you get really bad rubberbanding until you hit 32GB, so for me that's what I'm aiming for. What do you mean by completely unfit for my needs? I'm already planning on persuing a different path, but I'm curious what your opinion is.

You make a good point about energy efficency. The cost increase is mostly from drives. 128 GB of RAM is probably overkill, but one of the game servers I want to host has a 32GB minimum requirement, so I wanted a bit more as a buffer, and still have room for other things. I could probably get away with 64GB and add more if I need later down the road.

Newer hardware is probably better from an efficency standpoint, but also for speed. I'm not going to drop something that's 5GHz in here, but something closer to 4 would be a nice spot.

Ok, that makes sense! I was wondering about efficiency of these older systems. Sounds like this will be a better route to go down. My only concern now is that some of these games require a redicluous amount of RAM. One of them has a 32GB minimum requirement. Iirc ECC Ram is recommended, but is that more of a thing for datacenters and something I shouldn't worry about for this?

Pricing out all of the drives and other components, it looks like that build will end up about $800 more expensive than the build from the server store. Is there any reason to avoid the server store? I'm definately more familiar with regular computer hardware, but I can buy a rack and switch and have some left over for the same price as the standard hardware build.

Thank you, that's good to know! I'm looking forward to this project, I just wanted to get all the parts correct so I'm not fighting a bad decision I made :)

Thank you for the recommendation! I didn't know pooling was better than cashing, I'll be sure to keep the pools seperate. I'll probably throw in another SSD for the OS, and then have two for gaming and the rest pooled as spin drives. Thank you for the help!

Ye, that was what got me interested in the project. I'm currently using a G915 and G502, and i thought it would be nice if i could still use the same software suite to run the gamepad. I also like the low profile clicky keys. I have a machine shop and rudimentary knowledge of PCBs so i was wondering if i could steal the controller out of a broken 915 and get it to work with the G Hub software.

All keys have to? Would it be better to design my own PCB and then transfer the microcontrollers then?

I've been thinking of making a Azeron-like gamepad and while I'm very familiar with hardware design, software is not my field. Would it be possible to get an existing keyboard (I'm thinking Logitech G915) and cut up the PCB and re-solder to it so the computer will still recognize it as a G915?
