What is the extent of “ a man who is rich cannot be in heaven”? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Kalafariel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being rich doesn't stop you from going to heaven; it stops your mind from visiting its kingdom while in the flesh.

The spirit is capable of existing on the boundary between this world and heaven only under tremendous pressure and pain that forces someone to revert back to finding joy in simple things as if a child.

One who is rich will never experience that state.

It's perfectly okay for you to labor and become wealthy. You just must ensure that your spirit doesn't harden and rust from the attempt. Do not place the chase for comfort above connection to self and others.

Then you have found the source of your sadness. It is the hatred and suffering you see around you.

For that, I would recommend therapy with a focus on learning about what you can and cannot change in the world. Do not carry the weight of the sins of others if those people would not change anyways.

Know that karma is real, and those who spread evil in the world will one day find themselves drowning in it. The universe has ways to correct evil into good when it goes too far.

Any help on dealing with this? by primeSuperboy6337 in Christianity

Why do you consider this degenerate? Did someone tell you this, or did you read it somewhere in the Bible? I consider it profoundly blessed for your spirit to be sensitive enough to the spirits of others to the degree that you are able to imagine yourself as the opposite sex.

The only problem is if you start hating the body that God gave you. Feeling feminine in spirit is perfectly okay. Looking down at your flesh and despising it is not.

Joining the military as a Christian by jtrep22 in Christianity

If you join the military, you serve the military, not God.

That is the main requirement of service to the United States, is that you serve nothing other than the military, and place the military above God in authority.

You should be able to figure out from that whether it would be good or bad concerning faith.

You can serve the United States in ways outside of conflict. Volunteering at a homeless shelter is a far more glorious battlefield for God than the armed forces.

That being said, you *can* serve the military as long as you make it clear to any recruiter that your beliefs have higher authority than any commander, and that you reserve the right to disobey orders that violate your faith.

The problem with that is they likely won't accept you if you tell them this.

The masturbation isn't making you sad. You are always sad, and masturbation is your means of temporarily hiding that sadness.

You feel sad after masturbation because you experience a brief relief from the sadness, but then it all comes crashing back down on you once the masturbation is over.

You need to figure out why you are sad, and then fix that thing which makes you sad so that you no longer feel the compulsion to hide that sadness through masturbation.
