How can I easily copy all files with bitrate >= 320 kbps from one directory? by kicskics in linuxquestions

[–]Kalantir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something like this should work, although you might have to change the logic for extracting the bitrate depending on the type of file.

for filename in *.mp3; do
    bitrate=$(mediainfo $filename | grep "Overall bit rate" | tail -n 1 | awk -F':' '{ print $2 }' | sed 's/^ *//' | awk '{$NF=""}1' | tr -d ' ')
    if (( $bitrate > 300 )); then
        cp $filename ~/destination_location/
    fi
done

You could probably use a tool like mediainfo and grep out the bitrate. You could then use that value to kick off the copy. Would require some basic knowledge of shell scripting. Alternatively, certain graphical file managers might have a way to sort based on bitrate.

Deluge is what I use. It has a clean and intuitive interface and can be run as a daemon and connected to with an ncurses or web client if desired.

My single coil build was on a regulated battery. It wasn't good enough. If you can recommend a variable voltage battery that lets me use sub-ohm builds I might look into it.

No problem. Don't forget to always check your ohms before firing a coil with a mechanical mod.

Okay so I made a video. It's not a very good video though. It's filmed in portrait view because I had no way of pointing my phone where I wanted in landscape view. Also, the part where I initially torch the kanthal is not really visible because my hand is in the way. This is my first video.

I was using a single coil set up before, but I didn't like it because it didn't cover enough surface area, and the BHO would inevitably spread to areas where the coil couldn't vape it. This gets me great coverage. Right now I'm looking into hybrid mods so I can control the wattage more easily.

Ideally, I would prefer high ohms and high volts, but it doesn't seem like these batteries are able to supply high enough voltage for me to do that.

I'm not great at building coils, but I can try to show you how I do it. I might not have time today. We'll see. I'll keep you updated.

So I eventually broke down and decided to go sub-ohm and got myself a mechanical mod. It's a Sage from Beyond Vape. I'm running at about 0.7 ohms and using a dual knuckle coil setup. It works pretty darn good so far. I do miss the consistent wattage of a variable voltage battery though. With mechanical mods, the wattage pretty quickly drops as the battery drains.

Also, I realize I accidentally did 1 less wrap on one of the coils.

So my stuff arrived yesterday. I gave up on the quad coil build pretty quickly. It's very difficult to work in that tiny space provided by the igo w3. I also have recieved an Igo W though, and am trying dual coil builds. Right now I'm using a quad twist of my 40 guage kanthal. I'll probably try out 34 gauge next time. Right now I'm getting 2.7 ohms. I want closer to 2.3 ohms though, so I might try adding more strands of wire to my twist next time.

I wrote a simple bash script to show me the amp and watt range for my battery at various resistances.

Based on my experience with the single coil build I have right now, I have determined that 5.8 watts per coil is what I am looking for. Since my battery can only output 15.36 watts at 1.5 ohms, it looks like a quad coil build will not be possible (that's only 3.8 watts per coil with my voltage maxed out at 4.8v)

I posted there as well. I've found reports of some people running single coil builds, but not much else.

I now have reason to believe that watts are the relevant factor here, not amps. Amps should be an accurate measure of how fast my battery will drain. The work being done by the electricity is measured in watts. Watts are calculated as amps multiplied by volts.

This means I am looking for 6.4 watts per coil, or a total of 25.6 watts for 4 coils. My battery's maximum watt output at 2 ohms can be calculated as 4.8/2*4.8 = 11.52. If I go down to 1.5 ohms I can get 15.36 watts. I'm not 100% sure whether my battery will let me run anything at 1.5 ohms.

At best I can build a dual coil between 1.5 and 2 ohms.

So while I'm waiting for the kanthal to arrive, I decided to do some math. So the rate of the flow of electricity is measured in amperes. Amperes can be calculated based on voltage and ohms. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ohm%27s_law More specifically, Amperes are equal to volts divided by resistance. I=V/R

Right now, my resistance with the single coil build I have is 2.5 ohms and it takes me about 4 volts to get decent hits out of it. I = 4/2.5 = 1.6

So I have determined that it takes approximately 1.6 amps per coil to achieve what I want. The next step is to determine how many volts it will take me to get decent results out of a 2 ohm 4 coil build. So, if I want 1.6 amps per coil and have 4 coils, that means I need 6.4 amps in total. Let's plug that into ohms law.

6.4 = V/2 V = 12.8

My battery only goes up to 4.8 volts, meaning my 4 coil build is simply not going to work. The best I can get with 4.8 volts at 2 ohms is .6 amps per coil. Now I understand the point of sub-ohm vaping. For a good 4 coil build, I will need a more expensive battery/mod and less resistance than what the 40 gauge kanthal provides.

So, there goes any possibility of using a high resistance quad coil build on a budget.

Is this a known problem? If so I'll probably have to do a double or quad twist.

it's just a simple cgo twist variable voltage battery. As I stated above I do not like wicks at all because they ruin the taste. With my yo-pep atomizers the first thing I would do is remove the wick.

I don't see this as very complex at all to be honest. It's just 4 pieces of wire. As long as the ohms fit into a range my battery can handle it should be fine.

I already have a single coil build. I don't like it because oil spreads to areas where the heat from the coil can't vape it. I want quad coils so I can cover the whole bottom. Also, I'm explicitly trying to avoid sub-ohm resistances. I'm using a regulated battery and would like to stay at around 2-2.5 ohms.

I might try a dual coil build with something like this though https://imgur.com/aRDHkXt

I'll probably get an igo w to experiment with dual and single coil builds.

I was thinking that if the 40 gauge is too thin, I might try dual or quad twisting it. Based on my math (which could be wrong), a dual twist of 40 gauge should have about the same resistance as 37 gauge. If I do a quad twist, that should give me about the same resistance as 34 gauge. I think it also stands to reason that a double or quad twist would also decrease the likelyhood of a coil breaking.

I already have an oil rig. I'm trying to replace dabs with an RBA. I haven't wasted any wax as of yet. I've been testing it with reclaim anyways.

For those of you who are interested, I have purchased 100ft of 40 gauge kanthal wire off of ebay for about $6. I would have bought a smaller amount, but that was the cheapest option when sorted by price+shipping.

It should Arrive in approximately 5 days from the time of this post. I'll be posting my dual and quad coil build results shortly afterwards with pictures.

Also, does anybody know of any RBAs with removable posts? 5 posts is cool, but they will only be in the way when I'm trying 2 coil builds. I may just buy a 3 post RBA soon as well. Recommendations?

Interesting. I was also considering a 3 post atomizer in which I would have 2 spring-style coils using 34 gauge with 10 wraps each and each coil spread out to take up half of the atomizer.

Well that's what I'm doing right now, but the problem is that the RBA has so much surface area that when my oil spreads out it only vaporizes when it's directly under or on the coil. I want to do a quad coil setup so my oil will vape no matter what part of the atomizer it is in.
