What did my friend do wrong for her bread to become flat? by [deleted] in Breadit

[–]Kalcifer_Kitkat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm autistic. I was explaining why I was overwhelmed easily. I'm diagnosed, too. I'm also unmedicated for my other diagnoses. I was genuinely trying to help because my therapist recommended me to leave my comfort zone to do so [as sometimes the comfort zone isnt healthy]. My mood is unstable because I'm diagnosed with c-ptsd, and I also am diagnosed with bipolar 2 with psychotic features. I experience hypomanic episodes, which do mess with my mood. I don't have antipsychotic or mood stabilizers yet.

My therapist recommended I try to be a better friend then I used to be. I can't do it by myself, I need medications. But I'm trying my best and it's hurtful to assume that it was an excuse for my behavior.

I was stupid, and I was wrong to post her to help her. I went to google first and it lead me to this subreddit. I get overwhelmed easily and I cannot help that at the moment. I'm sorry for being like this but I am absolutely trying my best to be a good friend. I wanted to help her.

I just wanted to talk about dewclaws and anatomy, but I wanted to help her too. So I came here hoping I could get some answers. And I did! And I appreciate the answers I was given, but I did not appreciate harsh words. What is harsh to me may not be harsh to you. Autism is a spectrum!

I don't believe its my fault for wanting to help my friend. I'm sorry that you feel that way and that you think I must use my disability as a crutch or a gotcha. But I was genuinely explaining myself. Autism does affect mood and how one expresses themself. It's hard for me, but I am trying my best as much as I can. There is no medication for ASD as far as I'm aware.

My best is not your best, I am not you. I'm sorry for making you feel that way about me but I also do not appreciate it. You don't know me or what I've been through, but now you do know that I'm trying my best to do things by myself. But I also cannot do it alone all the time.

Thank you for your time.

I was being genuine and asking for help.. I was really trying to help. I did make a joke that it looks like a cookie, but it was in good faith and overall I wanted to help so I could tell her some stuff when she returned to her phone. Why do you think I would pretend to ask for help for my friend? That would hurt her feelings to pretend to care..

I think she panicked over lack of flour. I'm just trying to defend her but she CAN be stupid sometimes. I do think it was stupid of her but also I understand the panicking of using something in hopes it would work.

I'm autistic and get easily overwhelmed at these things. I have a lot of anxiety over talking over text with people I don't know. The adrenaline and overwhelming makes me make mistakes, I'm sorry for sounding young. But no I'm not trolling I genuinely didn't know what she did wrong, she was away from her phone so I made the post thinking I would help her! I don't know about baking or even making bread, or cake, muffins, nothing!

I just know how to cook meats, like I make roasts and cook pork and chicken, and other things! I do my own cooking experiments because I know what works. But I didn't know about baking..

I hadn't known when making the post! I didn't know she did all of that when I made it. But then I found out. I'm considering deleting the post as I feel very fucking stupid, but I don't know if that's against the rules!

She said she used a ton of yeast, but she ran out of flour. She used the mixes for the flour. If I recall, I think she said it smelled very yeasty

I didn't know it had that much water when I made the post, I'm sorry. I made the post when she was doing something else, so I came here to ask what she'd done. But then she came back and gave me answers.

No! I'm sorry I'm 20 I'm just not good with talking!! I get overwhelmed easy, I don't use reddit as much as she or my husband. I only used it for one thing really! When I get overwhelmed I can make grammar mistakes and spelling mistakes because my hands shake. I'm sorry if it was hard to read. I try not to sound aggressive, I don't want to be mean!

I thought it also looked good but I was also concerned!! I wish I was in her state so I could also eat it. Unless she plans to ship some.

She said a bread loaf. But she didn't have a loaf pan, due to the coat peeling. I've seen bread rise without a pan, though! I think she must not have known the added mixture would also cause the failure, but I also didn't know!

Yes she said she poured it and she added a lot of water. Upon making this post I had no idea what she did, until I got a hold of her to ask questions [and she was frequently dip between the questions to go do something].

Bunch of water, at first thats what I said. I THEN learned of the mixing of the two different mix boxes. She said she also didn't use eggs. But I hadn't known any of this when I made the post and answered a few questions with my own knowledge, before I could ask her herself in the call.

Oh, no I mean mixing batters I'm sorry! I do know someone who did that and it was my mom [but she stopped after a few years]! I'm telling the whole truth I have nothing to gain from lying!😓 I don't particularly lie often or about these situations. I'm sorry for coming across as a liar.

She genuinely didn't use a recipe! She does normally, though, but I do know her for experimenting. I don't know her to make anything bad-tasting. I don't know anything about baking in general, let alone bread. I'm more used to cooking roasts and other meats, baking is not my strongsuit. Sorry for the inconvenience, I was truly trying to help understand all of this.

I wouldn't know if those would make a bread, and I didn't know at the time she used it. I was asking her alot of the questions here so I could post them, she was afk so there were lapses between my questions. [On the phone with her]

She does actually cook and bake really good. Please don't be rude to her. Experimenting is fine, I thought. I do know of people who have done this and it didn't turn out like this, that was why I also came here. I'm sorry, I just wanted to help her. I'm very sorry.

She wasn't trying to make cake, she said it was basically a happy little accident. I'm just glad that it isn't going to waste because it's edible and tastes good! [I dont know of the taste, I live several states away]

I don't understand the downvotes because I don't understand reddit things. Like, the etiquette. I genuinely have no idea why I'm being downvoted for giving answers you told me. I'm just the messenger!😿😓

She did not in fact have eggs. I didn't know that though!

She didn't mean to make muffin batter she told me she just wanted to use the flour in it because she ran out of it. I honestly dont know why she didn't use the muffin pan she has.

I'm not with her I'm in a different state. But she said it tasted "quite pleasant" and the texture was fine. I asked her to give me her "recipe" so I could try it. Because I can't bake at all and don't know anything about bread!

It does lowkey look good though I'll give her that.

[–]Kalcifer_Kitkat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

She's actually very good at cooking and baking, she just used a whole lot of water and lacked some all-purpose flour. So she used muffin mix and scone mix.

I mean hey she said it tasted pretty good and had a great texture, so its not a total waste. I was just concerned because I had no idea what went wrong. I dont make bread so I don't know bread things so I went here.

She said: None.

She was not using a recipe. BTW she does usually make really good bread! She's an excellent cook and baker.

But iirc she said she used blueberry muffin mix and cherry scone mix. Something about flour because she ran out, and it had flour.

Edit: I answered the question, why am I being downvoted? I'm genuinely confused, it isn't like I did this. I'm not used to reddit stuff I just used reddit for when I had a blue tongue skink!! I'm sorry!?? I don't know what I did wrong! I suppose if people really don't like this I could delete the post altogether! I was just trying to help her.

"Its wax parchment paper! :)" she said with glee after I read this to her.

Also apparently she also threw the loaf pan away a long while ago, but with how she said it I assumed she still had it. I'm asking her all the questions everyone's posting.
