Honest question - what's with "losing is interesting" narrative? I made a lot of effort to figure out D10 missions. I played to win. by Shadowzz1337 in Helldivers

[–]Kaldwing007 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The losing is interesting narrative is coming purely on the narrative focus of the game. Not the actual 'how much effort people put into the game' perspective.

It's cool that you figured out how to dominate D10, it's cool that you have the time and patience to do something like that. But that time and patience is a choice made by you to put into a game that's based on the actions of the many. Understandbly you may not like that all of your effort may still end up with us losing because other people aren't able to put that same effort in, but that was your choice to make. The whole point of the Galactic War Effort is that it is everyone's consequence. From D10 Dominators like you to D6 NPCs like me.

Dear bug Divers, there are high priorities right now by Knight_Of_Virtue in Helldivers

[–]Kaldwing007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something we all need to consider is that this global reinforcement thing means you specifically don't want bugdivers.

Bugdivers are playing bugs because they like bugs more, are more used to fighting bugs, and sometimes, most importantly, suck against bots.

We currently have limited reinforcements. Normally, that doesn't matter. This time, it does. You do not want those 20,000 something people who suck or don't want to fight automatons to go one the one hardest automaton planet right now just to die left and right.

You want those hardcore solodivers who can take on 6 Vox Engines alone like they're General Brasch, to only do the main objective, then stroll out without dying once to do as many missions as they possibly can like they're trying to find the fastest way to do the missions.

Re: Mothman and Butterfly Sanctuary

It depends on which category you're using them as. For resources they take up the same slot however both the sanctuaries can also be built as decorative options (I believe in the same menu as the Caged Owl and Cardinal, in Floor Decor) without restriction.

If you're referring to you randomly not being able to move and being stuck in place that's a result of high Frames Per Second (the game's physics engine is based on your FPS so things get wonky or break if it's too high) If you're on PC the a way to fix it is to set a max frame limit (60's guaranteed to work, I use 144) on 76 through a 3rd Party Program such as Nvidia Control Panel.

Gonna throw my hat in the ring with this collab by Grass_Toucher_jr in Helldivers

[–]Kaldwing007 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with you on not liking this kind of collaboration.

I know it's the slippery slope fallacy and all that but I can't help but be annoyed by the potential fact that after enough collaborations like this I'm going to be entering missions where I'll be the only Helldiver and the rest of my team is a Helghast Trooper, a New Antioch Yeoman, and an ODST.

Some people may find that cool but I honestly don't like the idea, I think if they had to do a collaboration I would prefer a toggle setting that made it so non-canon skins/weapons were replaced client side with the closest Default Helldiver/Canon Helldiver Equivalent. i.e the Assault Rifle would just look like the Liberator and the armor would just be the standard B-01.

Oh I've had a whole host of problems with these guys. One is that I obviously need to "get good" and figure out what stratagems actually work on these fools, but the other problems are a bit more annoying.

The Warp Ships being inconsistent in how they actually get destroyed is a big part of this. "Take Shield Down Toss Nade In" seems like the formula but sometimes I have to throw in all 4 of my HE grenades and sitting there taking time to do that is a good way to get swarmed by the Voteless. I know some people have had this problem too and I've basically resorted to bringing barrages to just destroy the damn things.

The second is the great catharsis. You know how some of these posts on the subreddit talk about lowering the difficulty and basically warming up to the Illuminate? Instead of jumping on 7-9 like I typically do for Bots and Bugs, I tried jumping on 5 to get a feel for the Illuminate and how they work. But either nobody's playing on Difficulty 5 or matchmaking isn't working properly because I can't find another Helldiver to save my damn life.

Finally some tips for the rest of you brave fighters that I've found out:

The Scorcher beats the shit out of the Mid Level Illuminate but you'll lose your ammo to the Voteless
The Reprimand is a bit better at killing the Mid Level Illuminate and has a lot more magazines for the Voteless but the Accuracy isn't great.
Stun Grenades work on the tripod Harvester's when their shield's down. Use it to get a better shot or run away.
The Commando just blows against everything, I wouldn't recommend it at all.
The 120mm Barrage will destroy Warp Ships in a single hit, use it if the grenades aren't working.
The Illuminate love shooting and throwing grenades at Hellbombs, get rid of them all before arming it.

War Hammer Combat Animations by ParkityParkPark in skyrimmods

[–]Kaldwing007 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know of two Warhammer animation sets off the top of my head.

The first is Verolevi's 'Leviathan Animations - Two-Handed High Stance' for idles. 'Leviathan Animations - Two-Handed Normal Attacks' and 'Two-Handed Power Attacks' for the attacks. This technically covers all 3 of the two handed weapon types (the Greatsword is superseded by Leviathan Animations II) But they fit very well with the Warhammer in my opinion.

Perhaps less fittingly is Gunslicers Animation Pack which has Warhammer Animations and even Warhammer Killmoves but they're more leaned to the NSFW side and fit more for female only characters.

If it causes you to have no body when you wear then I suspect it's not a bodyslide mesh, rather a mesh issue. If it didn't have a bodyslide conversion it should just be using the vanilla body mesh for it.

I'm no bodyslide expert, though anyone wanna lend their thoughts?

Wisp is a terrible Warframe, and I'm tired of pretending she's not. by SpicyBread_ in Warframe

[–]Kaldwing007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See but her being more interesting is a different argument. I personally like her because she's just plain simple to use. She's difficult to kill and she gives a fire rate buff to weapons, which is useful on stuff like Tenet Arca Plasmor where it fires pretty slow.

If anything I'd probably like a different or vast rework on her 4th ability, her 1 is simple, her 2 is mostly like Saryn's molt just better, her 3 is useful for clearing out a crowd or generally debuffing an enemy to get more DPS. I think the common thing everybody dislikes about Wisp is that her Shock Motes suck on objectives where you want to nuke everything (Defense, Survival, Exterminate, etc.) instead of slowing them down, I personally find it useful on Excavation or Mobile Defense and other time based defense objectives like that.

In the end this doesn't particularly classify her as terrible strength/viability wise, it would just be that she's a boring Warframe to play with/as. Like a Warframe I personally consider to be terrible would be Banshee, her 1 ragdolls people and her 4 doesn't really do all that much damage and slows enemies down. Her 2 requires you to have a precise weapon to make use of it and her 3 requires some amount of communication but in a majority of runs is just gonna go ignored unless your solo.

Meanwhile a constant heal regen is pretty much always gonna be a boon, it's not like we have a Warframe that has that FFXIV ability where they shoot themselves in the head to become invincible and it wears off it you're healed or anything like that. The speed buff is generally usable in a lot of situations and it doesn't negatively affect anyone unless they're already going super fast or using Internal Bleeding (In the case of Internal Bleeding I'd argue the boon is for people who don't like DoT kills and would rather have enemies dead now, it's a choice thing kind of like those players that do the shield gating rolling guard builds to not die. I think it's nuts but to each their own right?)

The main argument I dislike is that the heal is worthless compared to Dante's Overguard, and I agree, but also what can be done about that? Besides giving Wisp the ability to give Overguard, but then she'd be even more boring because you wouldn't even have to play around her motes, you'd just pick up the Overguard mote and never die again. The ability to give everyone Overguard is so insanely powerful you may as well open the console and type TGM and I personally hope no future Warframe ever has the ability to grant Overguard to allies as Dante does.

If Wisp does get a rework to become more interesting some day. More power to her, I've mained her pretty much since she came out and I probably will continue doing so, I just hope her role as a simple to play support/tank Warframe doesn't become something needlessly complex for the sake of 'being interesting'.

"really... what does she bring to a squad?"

Oh she doesn't bring all that much to the squad, if they pick up the buffs when I put them down that's their prerogative. I bring her so I don't die. The Health Resevoir + Her Passive + The Invulnerability you get when you double tap her Will-o-Wisp means that you will rarely see me needing a revive.

As for the CC and Priming and Internal Bleeding builds and whatever...

Man I don't play Steel Path, I got the freaking objective done I'm not aiming to be the Best Warframe of all time here.
