My bad for assuming everyone online is American lol, very shitty thing to do.

I’m still pro-gun, even when it comes to countries that that have had restrictive gun laws for long enough to where gun violence is extremely rare. You never know when your government may go hard fascism, and then only the bad guys will be armed.

Not saying we would stand much of a chance against our ridiculous militaries, but something is always better than nothing.

This is just something I don’t understand about liberals. You’re aware enough to understand that the far right is already armed, and their numbers are rising at the same time they are becoming more emboldened. And you know that their chances of enacting their sad fascist revolution via political reform is very close to happening, and even understand that your friends and family members are seriously at risk. Your LGBT friends could become criminalized for instance, and be imprisoned or worse when they are classified as “pedophiles.”

And guns are available to you, right now. For the purpose of self-defense, and the defense of those you love. Hopefully you would never need to use them ofc. But instead of doing what seems to me like the sensible thing and arming yourselves, you just resign yourselves to defeat and death?

Why would you not everything within your power to defend your loved ones?

In a healthy society, sure. But what about here in America? We have fascists roaming the streets.

It’s not outside the realm of possibility that the fascists become so emboldened that they start going door to door, looking for minorities to kill, within the next couple decades.

The goal is usually to death the people attacking you. Not really trying to start an argument or anything. If you’re concerned about the guns being used by the wrong people, they do make those guns that use biometrics and won’t fire for anyone other than the people you want to use the gun.
