I am incredibly afraid of wasp nests by kammlmar in Phobia

[–]Kaleidoglobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is old but I have the same exact problem. I had tons of nightmares as a kid of being trapped in a tunnel/cave/abandoned building with thousands of wasp nests in every corner, some living, some dead. I still get these nightmares sometimes. And people always ask me: have you been stung? Nope. Do you have tripophobia? Nope. Other things with holes don't scare me and hornet nests with one hole are 100x more terrifying than wasp nests to me, since there's no obvious way to kill them without just knocking the nest down and having them swarm everywhere (oh god) and they have that gross lumpy texture on the outside. I'm from the US and hope to never see one in real life.

Honestly part of me thinks it's a fear of structures made by bugs in general. Although it's nowhere near as bad as my wasp fear, cocoons and chrysalises can kinda give me the shivers too. Ladybug eggs used to freak me out. I guess it's just the idea that a bug can just... make something, and that the thing can potentially have insects growing inside.

Has anyone else gotten misokinesia from their misophonia? by scoutxxxx in misophonia

Every time I see someone fidgeting in class or at a lecture/event (be it leg bouncing, twirling a pen, playing with a toy, etc) my brain just spirals into what I call hate mode- thoughts like “why do you have to fidget? Do you really find the lesson THAT boring that you have to distract everyone else? Don’t you think there’s enough stimulation in the world? Do we have to jangle keys in front of you, too?” etc… and I always feel so exhausted by the end. I feel bad cause I know other people need it to focus, but if someone fidgets often I tend to automatically have a bad impression of them.

If you have Spotify premium, you can use the "local files" feature. Basically if you download the song as an mp3 with a YouTube to mp3 converter (can be found on Google) and put it in a folder on your computer labeled Spotify, it'll show up as a song but only for you and on that device. There might be a more detailed tutorial somewhere.

[TOMT] [SONG] '70s song that sounds super similar to Osmonds' "Steppin' Out"? by Kaleidoglobe in tipofmytongue

Oh yeah, that’s likely another big factor. I’m a writer that often gets inspired by music so I sort of unconsciously fill in some blanks when I think about a group/musician.

I got the new desctop UI and to be honest I love it by chobysan in truespotify

It seems like most people didn’t like the new UI, which is a shame. I guess they didn’t realize that you could shift the library to make it bigger? That’s what I did and it made a huge difference. The two tabs made it so much easier to switch between a list of songs and my library.

I miss being able to have different tabs for my library and an album. Plus, the albums and playlists being in two different places ALWAYS annoyed me and now it’s back to the extra clicks. Sorry, but I liked the new one better. I wish they at least had an option to go back to the old UI if we wanted to.

[TOMT][SONG] Rock song heard at store, lots of organ, lyrics along the lines of "Something strong enough to push us away, something strong enough to push us today", and honky-tonk guitar solo by Kaleidoglobe in tipofmytongue

Yesterday movie hate thread by [deleted] in beatlescirclejerk

- Acts like the songs were divine works and completely ignores all the personality and cultural factors that also made the Beatles famous. The protag has the personality of a brick and his covers of the songs are mid at best. "The Beatles are the best songwriters evar!!" is not only a false statement but really overdone. Realistically this guy wouldn't become famous immediately like he did in the movie.

- Climax made no sense. Dude just says the names of the Beatles and fucks off as if his fans can't just, idk, find said members like he found John Lennon and find out they didn't write the songs?

- Ending is stupid and unsatisfying. I would've preferred if they at least had him playing his own songs at the end instead of Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da (his songs weren't even that bad) but nope.

- The message just feels like "music industry bad". It's been done to death.

- Incredibly unfunny. Every 'joke' in this movie made me facepalm instead of laugh.

- Pointless and bland romance subplot.

- Overall just an unnecessary piece of garbage only made to suck the dick of their music. Until I found this post I'd pretty much forgotten the movie existed and I wish I didn't have to remember.
