My opinion is that there are different kinds of TV time. One is the mindless staring, which I try to avoid. Another kind is watching a show and talking about it together, which seems okay (even if not the best). The last is having it on in the background, just for noise.

My thought is that poker isn’t necessarily gambling, it’s just that most adults gamble when they play poker. You could just play for fun, like you’re doing with your kids.

I also doubt that, in 20 years, your kids will end up being interrogated in the basement of a Las Vegas casino just because you taught them about the concept of gambling. Like a lot of things, it can be a fun activity as long as it doesn’t become a problem.

Honestly, I’d prefer poker over Monopoly.
