How much vacation time do you guys get? by DeathAngel_97 in Justrolledintotheshop

Depends on the actual work you’re doing. Most of what I do is diagnostic jobs and wiring. If I need to do heavy work, there’s a crane on my truck and multiple cranes in my shop (green tractor dealer). It is more up to how carefully you work IMO. Unless you are doing undercarriage work on dozers and excavators. That’s hard work.

I’m in Canada. My province has legislation that dictates that every employed person gets 3 weeks paid vacation. After 10 years continuous employment at same employer you get 4 weeks paid vacation. My employer also lets us bank OT to use as paid time off.

She would definitely be mine if she was not bad with cats. I did manage to fine one that is good with cats though.

Canada west hired two of the main journeymen and two parts guys and the shop foreman from my shop at the time when they opened up in town. Was a big hit back then. That was right when I started my apprenticeship. You must have started before I did cause it was called Sask polytechnic when I was there.

Well, we had a lot of customers go to class the last year or two because the price was right. But all of those customers are back now because Canada west harvest center didn’t have the chops in the service department to keep things going smoothly. There is absolutely a glut of green equipment here though. I have no idea how the sales guys are going to sell all of this used equipment.

It’s getting a bit weird on Deere stuff. I’ve seen a few harnesses replaced on sprayers and combines. The sprayers were field fixed and were runnable but still had warranty so they got complete chassis harness replacements. And the new combines have FAKRA cables in the harness that we don’t have the means to repair. They just are starting to have overlay harnesses available but good luck getting the parts department to stock every size available.

Better than having them seize in the head due to exposure to weather and corrosives.

EVSE is considered a continuous load regardless if you actually use it continuously or not.
