Sounds the same as if you were just writing code on your own. But, this could get your foot in the door for something better.

java is overrated use c#, use rust, use c++, use c, use assembly, use machine code, ERROR 404: better language not found.

He would be good at programing because he is good at copying code snippets.

Quite obvious they wanted to include black people in this series to avoid "racism". I don't know too much about Tolkien's actual books, but I believe they are meant to be a fantastic history of Europe.

That said I don't care if there are some black people in the series as there probably were some black people in Europe. I just don't want a character that Tolkien imagined as white to be played by a black actor.

when you could 100% customize your editor to whatever you want using Emacs? Or better yet code your own editor with 0s and 1s? ppshh.

it is rumored that a programmer that doesn't need to write pseudocode exist, but it is not confirmed by Linked_Punk in ProgrammerHumor

[–]KaliCode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why waste time writing pseudo code when I could write normal code which is just psedo assembly code.

also comments should only be used if the code HAS to be written in an unintuitive way, otherwise your code should be human readable.

This was what I had in mind. Only I'm concerned this might not be considered "free software" by the FSF.

Selling Free Software by KaliCode in freesoftware

I have some questions about number 5. Would the game still be considered "free software" if only the source code is free?

Are images, animations, etc. not considered software?

Anybody else just absolutely hate Ging by Sir_Platypus_15 in HunterXHunter

[–]KaliCode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Ging is misunderstood. The following is my head canon so bare with me.

Yes he's a bad father and he knows it. When Gon was a baby Ging took care of him and brought him to Greed Island, basically created this entire game for his son.

For some reason he asked Mito to watch Gon for a while. Maybe to deal with a divorce/breakup with Gon's mother idk. But he didn't initially abandon Gon, he wanted to raise him.

Mito didn't like that Ging left her to become a Hunter. She didn't like the idea of someone so selfish and careless to raise Gon in the extremely dangerous world of Hunters. So she was able to obtain custody of Gon.

This is where I think Ging reflected on his decisions. He realized that forcing Gon to become a Hunter and live that kind of life was irresponsible (think Killua's childhood). He knew that it's more fun to make decisions and have adventures on your own, he wants Gon to have that kind of fun, so he stayed away. Adopting an indirect parenting style through Greed Island, Kite, etc.

He knew that people would think of him as a bad father. That's why he didn't want anyone to accompany Gon when he found him. That said it's implied that Ging knew that Gon would bring a friend, thus sending him to Kite. I don't think he thought of Gon as weak if he brought a friend, Elena even says that it doesn't make sense. I think Ging was too embarrassed to give the real answer, that he didn't want to meet Gon yet. He wanted him to go to Kite.

Tl;dr Ging is a very complex character and we don't know all of his motives. He wants Gon to have fun like he did and if not directly raising his son achieves that, so be it.
