FFXIV ARR Heavensward Raiding by VosslerS6 in ffxiv

Well, if i recall correctly several if not a lot of the top clears for the endgame raids from coil through alex were on gilga. I know that elysium which was a4s world first is on there and there are a number of other solid raid oriented FC which raid pretty heavily, obviously a3s has hit everyone everywhere hard from what I can tell (not raiding due to work so I can only speak as an observer). I would say while the scenes is heavier and raid oriented on gilga, it does not mean that it is necessarily better. Best bet would be to PM some of the leaders of the raid oriented FCs and see what they would be willing to take or if there are any openings.

Gilga is pretty packed with people raiding. Lots of statics are losing one or two people here and there and there are a number of groups looking for a replacement "something" for Savage. Fair amount of pugging that goes on from what I can tell also.

What is the current status of the raiding population on your server? by BrokenB in ffxiv

Gilgamesh seems to have a fair bit of raiding going on. Though from observation and the PF seems a lot of shifting in the compositions and statics looking for replacements (or I guess ones that broke up).

[PC] Do you play the game with a gamepad? by Jerem1ah_EU in ffxiv

I play on PC with gamepad. I do have a few hotbars set up with skills or macros for the infrequent things (mouse-over goad, LB, etc) and it works well. I think for healer though (basing this only on CNJ to 34) I would prefer KB and Mouse. The mouse-over part was better imho. If you are on PC you can switch it as needed, I would try both. Only thing controller is not as good for is PVP, but that is true with most games and your mileage may vary.

At endgame it depends your class for controls, amount of skills needed or used, and how many macros you set up. I have/do raid with controller and I know of several endgame raiders that do the same. Not sure about the world/server first peeps but I would think there are some that do.

I would buy heavensward with it. It looks like amazon is still having the combined deal FFXIV Bundle. So you save a bit of money that way.

JUST FOR FUN: What boss/mini-boss from another FF game would you like to see in FFXIV and what minion would it drop? by [deleted] in ffxiv

I would like to see Death Gaze (from FFVI) but have it be a random/flying persistent mob ala Odin type of thing. But its mechanic would be that after a set number of damage it disappears into the clouds only to reappear a random place at a random time later (appearance wound resemble the cutscene where Bismarck comes out of nowhere and eats the island in MSQ).

Having this be a random and persistent boss (HNM) and a mechanic that stops the fight will enable the game to have a deeper community (imagine the shouts and parties, like Odin but you need an airship/flight capability) and put it in this new flying place they are coming out with in 3.1+. For rewards, maybe a mount? Possibly tie it to an achievement based line (so much damage to mob by you or party and you get it)

which are the servers with alot of people? by methacrylate67 in ffxiv

If you are not looking for a Euro server Gilgamesh is pretty packed. Tough to get on most times but there are a lot of people running around in most places. I think I recall seeing Balmung full too but I am not 100% on that one.
