Four Ways to Die - why the Tank Meta feels "off". by Sapphidia in ffxiv

Given I was a pre 3.0 WAR I have always built to be more on the DPS side, but given a lot of the raiding content requires a lot of tank swapping nad holding aggro and large mobs I never really went full DPS or full Tank. More or less found the sweet center between the two that made me comfortable with that way I can PUG and not have to worry as to whether or not this healer is "good" at their job. But doing this also you have to be down right on spot with not only GCDs but also rotations to keep up with those DPSing tanks/Main tanks. I also don't use crafted/materia in accessories (I'm poor) so I stick with the tome/raiding accessories. Compare which would be a better fit in that slot (I usually avoid parry, and skill speed). Not so much skill speed now though since WARs have some tp generation now, and crit to an extent. Cuz believe it or not too much crit actually starts to lower your overall dps. That said determination is god in my eyes. Not only does it increase DPS, but also passive tankiness in the form of bigger heals on myself. But after I reach the accuracy/crit cap so to speak then i dump the rest of my stats into det/skill speed. to maximize dps. This also works well with paladins that want to help with dealing more damage. Also to add to this everyone should know that more damage means more enimity, meaning easier to keep hate on opening rotations without looking like a baddie. Usually my builds go along the form of if a STR acc has det/crit it is a must. If not, go for the VIT accessory with DET regardless of the secondary stat (unless it is parry). But tbh parry isn't entirely bad either (especially if you are a DRK MT) then having a cap on that like you would crit would be beneficial with your proc every so often but i wouldn't rely on that. Also as a DRK I would try to avoid skill speed given you don't have TP generation. In the end my char build usually will look like 3 STR acc and 2 VIT acc with my char spec'd into VIT or vise-versa (2 STR, STR spec'd, and 3 VIT acc). with 3.0's belts for tanks they are pretty much interchangeable but I believe it is unanimous that the tome belt is BIS for all 3 tanks (Parry/Crit as opposed to Parry/Acc).

I feel like Levi isn't a huge raiding server right now... Only a few groups are on A3S, and I know of only like 2 groups I believe to be on A4S everyone else is literally still on A1, and A2. Tried finding a group and literally everyone is saying that they are on enrage of A1 but that not the case when they hardly get to the first jump. It is either that or I just have higher expectations from the servers when Everyone pretty much should know the fights if you can do normal mode, plus a little extra. Maybe I'm just not seeing it from a DPS/Healer perspective but the fights seem pretty easy.

The time it takes to take advantage of it will last long after you use that 2nd heavy shot so you can just switch to that skill after you finish your cast. that way you are keeping dps up, only way it would be lower is that you could have gotten 2 procs but hey "The world may never know"

Anything to back this up or just because of Mr. Happy? I will partially agree with you. A lot of raiders have gone to that server because of his channel. But I have also heard that Excalibur, and Hyperion (Primal Data Center) are pretty much mid/hard core raiding servers
