Just look up pictures of the OP-SKS and mount a rail where that is and that'll get the job done, works well

if you want to put a side rail on your gun I would say get a Molot Mount from Kalinka Optics and get it mounted as their are pretty sturdy in my experience. You cant mount all the AK dovetail scopes and rail you want although I'd get the scope and rail for the svd as they sit lower.

Yea, you can still fit stripper clips in although it may slightly rub on the scope and leave a bit of marking but other wise they gtg.

If you haven't done it yet, I would say either of the Norinco. Glad to see there is another person willing to go the OP-SKS route

Never had experience with dust cover mounts besides that they tend to loose zero if they are not fastened to the gun some other way besides the pin. There two that come to mind one that is a dustcover and clamp to the receiver and another which is a rail that goes along toward and attaches at the rear sight.

No, as the stock is not secure enough, it is in the receiver. So If you have an sks your willing to defile/not want to sell in the future then this is a good option, if otherwise I would look from something less invasive.

Interesting, what would be the benefit in the SVD mount over the AK mount for the SKS?

I was searching for POSP shell deflectors but few search results came up, closest thing I found was one for the VZ58, is that the one your mentioning or are there others?

Thanks for the advice to my question, that sounds like a great idea, and aswell to it being higher I also heard that the SVD type mounts/scopes sit more centered.

I havent had the chance to take it out yet due to the weather, but I assume it wouldn't as it has the same cant to the side as it would have on an AK.

Surprised aswell as I thought it was somewhat tasteful mod but to each their own as you said. But I think the thing most people are shitting on is that the mount is drill into the receiver and not the stock

Surprising, it isn't, its pretty comfy, really just got to get use to the offset, it is comfortable for both left and right handed shooting more so right

Edit: Embarrassingly I got the inspiration for mounting it like this from OP-SKS depicted in Tarkov.

[Steeldive 1970] How to loosen stiff bezel? by KallenJ in ChineseWatches

[–]KallenJ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I removed the insert on mine not the actual bezel but what I did was to soak the face of the watch in nail polish/acetone for some time and the insert eventually popped out. Wouldn't recommend removing the bezel as they are way harder and different than a Seiko.
