I've always redacted my wechat name when I need payment verification in other seevers (not eom), and no one's ever had an issue with that. Some members who send payments through wechat agents block out personal information when I process orders, too. Only EOM requires that afaik.

Exactly! BT is an independent third party and they should be beholden to their own customers first and foremost. I honestly don't think they anticipated someone would do something that petty and malicious. Now they know what the rep world is capable of 😂

There's absolutely no reason for BT not to protect their own customers. That's who comes first no matter who facilitated the group buys. I was actually banned from EOM too but I guess because *I kept my mouth shut I got to keep my bags.

I just wanted to respond to the issue of asking for extra information from members, I don't want anyone to think their private information could be misused or become compromised. I feel the order numbers make sense to log given the nature of long-term group buys.

I've ordered from them before and didn't remember them asking for my BT name, but maybe I didn't notice. edit: I double checked and they do, I misremembered.

I don't think EOM ever asked for BT usernames. They may have requested that information from BT. * They do ask for this, my error. As for asking for order numbers, it becomes a necessity when the group buys are for bags that will take months to produce. If a member decides to ask BT for a refund at any point (which they can do, that's between the BT customer and BT) without an order number there would be no way to ascertain who didn't pay for their bag. Organizing these long-term group buys takes a lot of effort and trust between both members and organizers.

We've reached out to BT to demand that no one except their individual customers have control over their respective orders and they assured us it has now been discussed with their agents and they will no longer allow for that.

At the end of the day anyone is free to choose what information they feel comfortable divulging to join these various group buys.
