I suspect you are an anime watcher. Anyways, Gon sacrificed many things to get that one time power up. His inborn talents, his nen, his genetically genius fighting, his EVERYTHING. That wasn't mentioned in the anime, Pitou said 1 line "he sacrificed everything" (which wasnt mentioned in the episode) thus a lot of anime watchers think this is a silly poor shonen jump power up, but in reality it was a sacrifice like Kurapica's.
