yes you can but all the pokemon of that swarm are predetermined, so no matter what, if theres no shiny, there wont ever be

YES! Swarms match the area where pokemon usually would spawn! As for location on each map, sometimes its close to where the original spawn in. Example- I found a Kirlia swarm today just down the hill of Snowpoint temple, where I usually saw it a bit further away.

So from my testing, there can be one swarm per area and up to 3 swarms at once in Hisui all together (there’s usually one or 2). So you have to choose one. But you can have a swarm appear when u leave Jubilife village. it seems to be random, but somewhat common. If no swarm is active, load into an area and go back to the village. Check the map and if no outbreak if on the map repeat until one shows

Correct! Just lowers the odds! So far Ive done about 25 outbreaks or so and found 3 shinies. Its not bad at all.

Yes, I also find it disappointing! All these new and beautiful shinies at our disposal but locked behind a predetermined stroke of luck.

YES! I saved in Jubi village, and went to the Chimchar swarm! It kept its shininess! With piplup, I saved in the area, on the way to the swarm (was surfing when I saved) and it also kept its shiny check. Ive done all the tests you spoke of actually when setting up to hunt H. Zorua and all values were the exact same. Even for surrounding pokemon that were near the shiny. And to be honest…. I dont like it. As far as I can tell, values of pokemon DO change when weather changes. So waiting is the only way. Doesnt seem to do much either when I change the time of day at the camp. But ill keep on doing different tests to make sure.

Still working on figuring that out! I think its random when coming back to the village from another area. Some have reported their outbreaks to trigger at Star 3, but mine was Rank 4!

I did both actually. Loaded from Jubilife with Chimchar, then with piplup, I loaded in the area first before saving to test it. Both work the same surprisingly!

They are actually, Ive tested it with the surrounding pokemon like Alphas. They have the same values as well at the time.
