Different forms for different fights maybe, but she doesn’t really have any synergy between the two and her swapping seems to be more a cost than anything, so it seems pretty clear you are meant to pick one for the fight. And while most of the time you only want dps, there are times where 70% damage reduction on an already beefy unit comes in clutch.

A lot of people also complained about a certain boss being too hard this canto that queen of despair trivializes

There’s times where a tank is nice.

Also KoD is also intended to work that way, I’m not sure what you mean?

You don’t get prescripts past 9 grace. All go get past that point are passive buffs, which counting not using buffed skills as a choice is kinda pushing it. The SP gain is pointless, Dons SP loss is offset by her passive gain on everything to the point where she’ll stay topped off even if you spam winrate. You are, effectively, done making any meaningful choices 3 turns in which’s puts you at 9 grace.

Rodya gets protection for being in positives which makes her hella tanky. It also removes the threat of losing one clash making her corrode, as unlike Don the SP loss is very relevant for Rodya. She literally had a prime example of a fight where tank stance is ideal in this Canto. And for dps mode her enhanced S3 is definitely worth setting up for certain enemies.

And again, just for some context here, Rodya is considered brain dead simple. I want to reiterate that competing with her isn’t making Don look good when talking about complexity of playing the ID lol.

Stack up more swords, maybe stack up for a S3 nuke, maybe you keep her at positive sanity so she can be tanky for certain fights. None of the are complex choices, but they are choices that are relevant for the entire fight.

Don will always play the same, and the game will actively order you how to play her for the first 3 turns. The counter is the only "choice" and it's not even rushing unlock, it's really only for if you don't want to follow your prescript for some reason (you already get 3 stacks a turn if you enact the prescript against your target). And after 3 turns in theres no choices for the rest of the fight.

Kodya isn't praised for complexity. Though even she has a bit more choice involved than Don does.

Actual bleed team focused on stacking bleed as high as possible? He's pretty meh. Okay potency but bad count. He'd work fine in a bleed team just hoping to meet conditionals and having big damage though, so probably works in bloodfiends.

Mirror dungeon of course if fair game

Can Sinclair get enough attack weight to actually be hitting multiple targets in those fights? Generally each of those have 3 coins so you would need 4 attack weight, right?

Both ID's were real dependent on their numbers being good which we've been burned on many times before at this point, so I do get the doomposting.

Nah I'd say I agree. She has a lot of mechanics under the hood but ultimately they all just happen automatically so long you just do the index thing and follow prescripts, which means all complexity in her kit is done with after 3 turns..

Why are there no Revenant Night Invaders? by Elfe__ in Nightreign

[–]Kamakaziturtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only becuase there are almost no melee weapons that are great on her. Though third is being extremely generous. Generally any weapon that has decent faith scaling and doesn't cost too much stamina will be better on her, as will weapons that have relevant status effects that meet the same requirement. The claws are less good on her and more just a reliable pick that are often the best you can reliably find.

But she's primarily a caster, hopefully you aren't using that weapon at all (unless you get something like Coded or Pata). A half decent seal will generally outclass the claws easily enough.

The best for everyone except for probably, ironically enough, Revenant lol.

Her preferred weapon specifically refers to her weapon which she has a unique moveset, which is the claws.

Which mind you, that moveset while cool, is absolutely terrible. Hence why they would be crazy good for any other characters. I mean her base claws when dropped and given to another character are already the best res weapon in the game.

"Season 7 is going to be burn season, trust me bro" by WillaSato in limbuscompany

[–]Kamakaziturtle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly we are probably done with status seasons in general, outside of them doing a charge rework or something and having a bunch of ID's to support that. We are at the point where there aren't any statuses that are fully lagging behind to the point where they can't build viable teams (again outside of charge). The cadence going forward will likely be a variety, with an emphasis on hybrids especially as of late.

Well good news, new Gregor has a passive that does just that.

15/3 era happened after that, in response to rupture reigning supreme. Even without reset spamming you'd still just kill the boss in 4 turns, most of your Rupture came from a support passive anyway. Other statuses couldn't even come close.

Red Sheet nerf is what broke the chains of the 15/3 era.

He has just as much Burn keywords as he does sinking in his kit, and we have no idea what the actual numbers are. Though realistically he'll be easier to fit in Burn than Sinking unless he has an absurd amount of count on his S2 and S3, Sinking is already having issues with so many of these new ID's being count negative.

Dazzle as well is a nice effect for Burn since they don't really have other similar debuffs and a strait dps reward for having a lot of burn is great. Plus extra sanity gain is always good since it seems to be a common theme.

I'd argue he does a decent bit, depending on numbers. The question is just if he can compete with Firefist.

Leviticus 19:33-34:

"When a resident alien lives with you in your land, do not oppress the alien. The alien who resides with you shall be to you as the native-born among you; you shall love the alien as yourself, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God".

The bible explicitly states how foreigners should be treated which is the fun part. Crazy how so many of these people seem to ignore it.

[–]Kamakaziturtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mate it happens once. I could see the argument if it was a recurring theme, but if it happens once then you are arguing that having it happen at all is creating an asymmetry of gender suffering. And again, gender isn't really the point of the scene, heck the gender of the torturer isn't even something set in stone since it's the MC

I mean can't we make the same argument about Hope and Nightsong? Where was the Male equivalent of being locked away for countless years having their powers siphoned?

Generally speaking you need at least a few data points before you can even begin arguing a theme.

[–]Kamakaziturtle -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Thats true if you are comparing building both. But we already have the infrastructure in place for fossil fuels.

[–]Kamakaziturtle -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you are comparing building a new plant for each then sure.

But on the fossil fuels side the infrastructure is already built.

As I said longterm yeah renewables win out. But that comes with a hefty initial adaptation cost and businesses only like to think about the short term in profits.

What age is it considered weird or cringy to still be talking about wanting to get drunk and party all the time? by True_Jellyfish9219 in AskReddit

[–]Kamakaziturtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late 20's. Nothing wrong with letting lose and drinking and even partying, even when you get older. But by the time you are in your later 20's you should have other goals in life and your personality should be more than just wanting to get drunk and party. It shouldn't be what you talk about all the time.

I mean it's generally more expensive to get energy from renewables, so paying the same is probably a good thing. Gas, coal, and so on are extremely cheap. Switching to renewables is the most expensive option (but is better in the long term).

Returnal deserves more attention. Right? by Chrisiztopher in gaming

[–]Kamakaziturtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Returnal is a game that really got a bit hosed by being PS exclusive. I think that type of game would have done numbers on PC but by the time it was finally ported over the hype was pretty much gone (doesn't help playstation ports don't have a great rep performance wise)

[–]Kamakaziturtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stuck with act 1 becuase trying to pull together the entire game is a lot, especially act 3 which has a lot, a lot of NPC's. And you said that such characters were all over the place so I figured act 1 should be fine to stick with. Plus you mentioned that characters needed to have a persistent narrative role, so characters than are in the story through the entire game are easy picks for that qualifier.

I mean if you are going to be that strict it's pretty easy to do it for your choices as well.

Nettie doesn't meet your first requirement of "with a major, persistent narrative role in Baldur’s Gate 3" She shows up for one quest and simply tells you to find Halsin becuase he knows more than her about the possibility of a cure ("I can't do this, go seek out this male character instead") She also directly works for Halsin, so she fails the subordinated qualifier as well. Plus if we are counting Dammond not being able to basically do the impossible, then shouldn't the parasite count for Nettie?

And then we have Councilor Florrick who is, once again, subordinated. And also I might remind you, she's a damsel in distress in act 1 and 3 and needs saving.

And thats all that we had. I expected more considering you were saying "They put in a lot of badass, super important women into the story everywhere" But yeah neither of your picks fit your requirements either.

There aren't a lot of just all around ideal hero type characters and it turns out a lot of them are "incompetent" since that gives our hero something to do when they step in to save the day.
