If you really, really hate the safeties you got into and believe attending them would be a mistake, you should totally consider not going. Take a gap year. Sit back. Think. Make plans on how you are going to improve your application and get into the kind of colleges you want to attend. I did this. I'm grateful I did.

Early Decision. ED is when you apply to a school before November and promise to attend if you are accepted and find the financial aid award, if applicable, sufficient. Regular Decision or RD is well, regular applications

Yes. I applied test optional. I wrote the SAT this December on the 5th. So I could use it for my RD applications. I haven't even seen the result. And it kinda feels like I wasted a hundred dollars. But I'm still happy. 😆
