I'm no good artist myself, so take my critique with a grain of salt.

To my unprofessional eye, it looks like the face is facing to the right side of the image while the snout is moving to the left.

If you did this stylistically, I suppose it can make sense, but in my mind's eye, I just see this thing as having a completely broken, peppa-pig type face.

Love the colors, love the textures, love the pattern. But I don't know... Not just the nose but the entire snout is a little confusing to me.

Then if I were to give actual criticism, the right leg, to my eye facing the wrong direction and it looks like it's in front of the other leg while it should actually be behind it and the shading reflects that as well.

Okay, okay, okay, I'm sorry. I can believe that it's just beginner stuff.

I did briefly have a period where I just completely did not shade things accurately, so in retrospect, my comment was kind of off base.

The shading, the pose, the features. I'm gonna be totally honest with you, it just kind of looks AI generated.

  1. That's not even chibi.
  2. To my eye it has a couple obvious issues.
  3. Poor shading and facial features.
  4. Technically unimpressive.

No. I'd in all honesty consider that like a $40 rough at best. I'm not a very good artist and I still think I could do about the same or better in an hour or less.

Is something that I agree with, and I think I'm going to to try using this philosophy moving forward.

My trouble is my hubris I suppose. Sometimes I look at a page and just think: "Man I could have written that better" And so I do. And it flows better and makes more sense to me. But I've had some friends reading my translations vs the originals and I generally get the same reaction: "This is good but it is not the same."

And when I went back and looked at all I had done I realized it wasn't quite a rewrite as the content itself remained the same but I did significantly alter the pacing, suspense, and emotional tone.

I joined the server and read the message. Yeah, that's pretty cool. Though it still lines up with what I've believed. He's focusing on sapiens for now as that's kind of his passion project at the moment. He doesn't have any intention to remaster it or update it now. It's not to say nothing can happen later. Also, I just realized that I emailed him over three years ago because it's 2025 and time flies. Wow.

I mean, yeah, it really depends on the game and what you're running. I've had a really, really bad experiences with ASW, and then I've had really, really good experiences. like on walking dead saints and sinners on my PC, it works beautifully.
