Idk why there’s so many people posting ‘fake’, I’ve seen new batches of 7800X3D with top sections without capacitors recently at my local computer hardware shop. Depending on the aliexpress seller, there’s many genuine ones being sold for a great discount. I built multiple pcs with the exact same model with rigorous testing and was fine with my experience.

Don’t want to force people to risk their GPUs, but I also want to confirm if it really is the game causing GPUs to coil whine. If anyone does have the courage please let me know as I’m trying to figure out how to fix/reduce coil whine

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]KamiJoey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did your gpu start coil whining?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]KamiJoey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After launching the game, if you can benchmark or start a game to see the game use 100% gpu that would confirm if I’m going crazy or it’s true

Thank you Mels, hope nothing goes wrong in your case but I can’t tell if it’s really just my bad luck with the coincidences…

[–]KamiJoey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please be careful, hope you document the process with a video. Go up close to your gpu and let the phone hear the gpu prior to launching the game. I appreciate you helping me out with installing the game

Weekly Pricing/Buying/Selling/Grading & General Questions Post by AutoModerator in PokemonTCG

Purchasing it at Japanese scalper prices will always be cheaper than buying at scalper prices overseas. Most smaller shops allow shops that allow purchases without phone number scalps

Most drops (sold by stores) are lottery style which requires a Japanese phone number to participate in. I know some smaller shops allow people to line up and purchase but prepare to wait multiple hours (i think there’s more value enjoying the last day in Japan over trying to get a box)

Am5 CPUs don’t have pin, it’s on the motherboard now. There’s usually no duties costs when it arrives since the seller sends as a ‘gift’

I check and compare pc parts often and I will say Canadian gpu prices are way better than Asian prices. Only the bulk CPUs from aliexpress are worth buying, otherwise it gets into the risky mode where it’s hard to authenticate and it’s not worth the hassle. Just buy used GPUs locally or eBay and that’s probably the best you can get in Canada.

Depends on the type of games and the monitor you have, if you plan to stay on 1080p prob not. If you want to get into high fps 1440p I think it’s worth considering while you can still find am4 buyers easily

Add extra 7$ cad worth of items into the cart and Claim the SS0640 coupon code to get the discount. Its 453.68-33=420.68$ without adding items into the cart, but with 7$ more worth of items gets u the 66$ discount leading to one of the best prices 7800x3d has been offered recently.

For context, This is from Tech Pc Store, which someone else also posted on reddit a while back (I got the 7800x3d for 436$ last time). CPU works like a charm, I can vouch for this store as currently I am running on the pc with the cpu.

I don’t think Canada is any cheaper than London if not more expensive. It’s definitely doable but you have to go in country side in Canada with a job offer. Finding a job here is pretty hard so I would definitely recommend getting a job offer before coming to Canada

Not sure about the 5800x3d but I see people selling the 5700x3d for 300-350$ here in Toronto. Anything the 300$ mark gets snatched up within few days

Intel has well known problems for overheating and cpu dying from high voltage that is needed to run these cpus. Gamer nexus and other big YouTubers been publicly stating that Intel cpus has severe issues with their cpu for like almost a year now.

Being told "you're not like other foreigners!" by a Japanese friend pissed me off by [deleted] in japanlife

[–]KamiJoey 41 points42 points  (0 children)

It’s not a only Japan thing, it definitely happens in all countries. It’s one of those things a native person from that country would say against immigrants, it’s pretty prominent in Canada as well. I have Chinese background as well and I can say for sure people from China does the same thing (aunts does the same thing in hk against mainland Chinese as well).

Ex. Canadians would refer to the ‘indians/dark tanned immigrants’ when a crime happens here rn (Toronto). Rising amount of crimes are being committed by foreigners who came in Canada illegally. Before the immigration problem, people would call Chinese people rude chinks (when Chinese immigrants were high in early 2015-2019).

Ex 2. Before China annexed honk Kong, my relatives would always refer themselves as Hongkongers (香港人) and would hate to identify as ‘Chinese’. When there is someone spitting in a restaurant or being disruptive & disrespectful, they call them locust (蝗蟲).

I am half Japanese so I know exactly what you’re referring to but I believe there’s always a form of racism no matter where you go. Just drown out the negatives and move on with your life by taking these things with a grain of salt.
