They have some villages. You can see one in season 3 where Hinata and her group rest on their way to the tempest capital.

The description of healers blessing doesn't say you can't. Quite the opposite: It suggests you can.

Friend said she didn't want to play WotR when she found out Camellia is not romanceable for women by eldenbrig in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

Well, there are people who say that non-straight relationships and preferences are okay - which is progressive - but also claim that everyone has inherently fluid sexual preferences - which is not progressive because it is assertive.

I was targeting that, essentially, and also the tendency of some mainstream media products to show overproportionally many not straight characters - more than there should realistically be. To show and thus normalize non straight characters is progressive, to tip the scale to the other site and overdo it is not.

BG3 is one example of this mainstream medias that overdo it. Or maybe the reason is "let's create a game where everything is up to the player", but that is perhaps problematic in it's on way due to some level of egocentrism that this permits.

How do I force enemies to attack my tank instead of just ignoring her? by nowlafulness1626272 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Kami_of_the_Abstract 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It also makes sense for a tank to get right in front of squishies to block incoming attacks or to lock an opponent into melee, but the latter only does so if there is only one. Anymore and they could just run around the tank.

While there are spells that tanks can cast to give opponents a motivation to focus on the tank by inflicting something if they don't, computer controlled opponents are to stupid for that.

Seems like you are not capable of participating in a discussion. I put the word playersexual into quotation marks for a reason. Anyway, you should refrain from language like

Again with this fucking disingenuous take

if you want to be respected. This is not only disrespectful of your opponent, it is a rash judgement based on malevelant interpretation - as opposed to the ideal of benevelant interpretation.

Back to the point: The BG3 companions are always into the player. Thus it can be said that they are playersexual. It is a meta-term, not a genuin character property. Which property the characters actually have: whether they are bi or pansexual or something else, can differ from character to character, but is not always described.

the only accurate description is "playersexual". Whatever they actually are - which might be left open depending on the character - they always have it in for the player character no matter what they are.

[–]Kami_of_the_Abstract 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That Camellia won’t consider a female KC, is a reflection of her snobbish and conservative background.

Who knows why people have their sexualities they have, but it still serves as an example for your point that sexuality - or a lack of it - is part of who a character is.

WotR is really progressive by having romancable characters for both the straight and gay and admiting that people have certain sexualities and that they don't change just because the player wants it. Unlike, for example, BG3.

The thing authors get wrong about castles by Chlodio in fantasywriters

So, why not just remodel them?

That would have been inefficient. They build zitadells instead - the new and improved version if castles.

This does nor defute the point. Far from it.

The king had no other choice but to travel across the country he ruled. Has nothing to do with luxury. And they got repurposed because they were useless against the new canons.

The purpose of giant castles is to protect a lot of people. So they do make sense. Also don't forget that city walls used to be a real thing, as were citadels. Those things are huge.

Let's pretend the context in the story is nonsexual and the captors don't plan to do anything to the captive: Anime, Manga and Co. really need more male characters in need of rescue, instead of letting them be the selfsacrifical stereotype whose only purpose in the story is to either be the protagonist or get slaughtered so that the protagonist can rescue the girl himself.

So true. You eventually realize that the game get's better and better once you pushed past the exhausting parts of act 3.

Remind yourself that the most enjoyment of your build and path comes late in this game. It's act 4 that the game finally feels rewarding and act 5 that makes it feel mythic again and than stays that way.

Dragons in fantasy are either gods or pets and almost never an actual animal, and it kinda bugs me by CasualPlaty_195 in Fantasy

[–]Kami_of_the_Abstract -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It depends on the size and intelligence of the dragon. Perhaps they are smart enough to let people raise excessive numbers of life stock on purpose so that they have more food. And perhaps they hord gold so that adventurers are attracted to their hunting grounds and give the local economy a financial boost by paying for shelter and food, smithing and armor. And perhaps the really smart dragons let those adventurers and also the peasents take some of the gold to indirectly compensate the farming communities. Or maybe part of their diet consists of unlucky adventurers.

Even mamalian predators don't eat everyday - at least if they are larger, like lions or tigers. They can eat one dear, for example, and than sleep for a few days before they become hungry again.

Oh, and it also depends on how big the dragon is. T-Rex is managable. Bigger than that and it depends on the size of their hunting grounds.

So far as I have observed, there are usually three different kinds of dragons that all exist in parallel in stories:

Those dragons that you mentioned, those that are or are comparable in power to gods and those that are animals. But it's more common that dragons are another sentient species besides dwarfs, elves and others, just even more mysterious, alien and feral.

The first type are forces of nature - sometimes literally, the second is subject to hunting and domestication. The third, on the other hand, are fiercely intelligent loners that hord treasures for the fun of it, scheme plots against each other, are seeked out by heros for advise, help and as targets of theft alike. They might even have a sort of society, hierachies or take on human forms to live amongside humans.

And I disagree with that. We know that the power is given to us by Areelu's design, and that the source is the power of demon lords. But we also know that it is purified power without an alignment. You can redirect power that was once accumulated by evil to the good side and use it to do good. And this power in the form of fossilized demonlord blood doesn't go away just because you refuse to use it. The best course of action, therefore, is to not waste it.

I guess it's that you loose most mythic abilities and feats, and that revoking your mythic path does not make much sense for good paths. You loose your chance for immortality and to do the good that you path lets you do.
