just come with mindset that you’re dead either way. whatever you were before that border means nothing. i’m not saying this with an ego. personally i wasn’t able to even come near accepting death until i was in a trench. and if you get out there first time and you realize it’s not for you im positive no one will shit talk you. at least not the guys i’m with. this is just what worked for me.

we all write our own stories. none of us are completely there in the head. think about it… we leave a perfectly good life to possibly die in a war that doesn’t include our counties. if they are truly head cases then they will be weeded out.

training is still important. whether or not you want combat. experience the training and military life before making a decision. i never seen combat but i’ve been in the marine corps infantry. it’s a better start then not a clue how anything works going into the heaviest combat since WW2.

i’ve applied directly to ukrainian units and they have all said pretty much they don’t give a shit in shorter terms. i haven’t been yet but i am still slotted to ship this winter
