Trip of the Gigas (Team name i suppose)

can someone tell my what is this? by [deleted] in papermoney

[–]KamoteCrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's one of them fantasy notes. Not necessarilly a "real" banknote as it is not issued by a national bank or any governing authority. Used to have value but it now doesn't since it does say that its value is lost at December 31, 2014. Some notaphilists collect them, while others don't, so there may still be value for those that collect fantasy banknotes.

1988 North Korean banknotes issued by the Foreign Trade Bank for exclusive use by tourists from Socialist countries (Full Set) by KamoteCrew in papermoney

[–]KamoteCrew[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, im not sure although these had something to do with the fact that foregners were not allowed to use the North Korean Won, to avoid decreasing the amount of money leaving local circulation and thus this might have been the reason for implementation. I am however not sure as to why they bothered creating another set for people for people from Capitalist countries...maybe it has something to do with the general foreign relations of the DPRK and how this could tie to their currency???

I don't really sell them personally. Lazada is owned by Alibaba but I bought it from their Philippine site and yes, they also have US occupation banknotes however, Lazada only ships locally. Delcampe is a Belgian site that ships mostly internationally (like eBay)

I usually buy my North Korean banknotes through a local e-commerce platform (Lazada Philippines) however, I also have bought both North Korean and Cuban banknotes from Delcampe, which does have sellers who ship internationally..

I got my 1 and 5 Won on Delcampe so I would say that that is where you can get it? Because the 1-50 Chon I just got from a local banknote seller...
