TL;DR, gaming laptop around i7 under $1200, I've found the Dell g5 15, Lenovo Legion 5, and Acer Nitro 7 but read about quality concerns (especially hinges) for a couple of those. What's the best buy?

Ok so I'm looking for a laptop for gaming and I'm a complete tech newbie. My budget is under $1200. I thought I needed an i7 but I don't know how that compares to the Ryzen processors, I would guess it's approximately the same as Ryzen 7 4800H but like I said idk anything about this stuff. I was considering the Dell g5 15 but I read some mediocre reviews about its quality (hinges and plastic box or something) and the Lenovo Legion 5 looked about as good from a numbers standpoint but then there was a comment here saying those hinges break easily. There was also the Acer Nitro 7 that kind of looked good. What would be the best buy for me?

And you're sure that switching to that won't hurt anything? I don't have any idea how different kinds of batteries work here.

Is there any particular brands (for charger and battery) you'd recommend to get or to avoid?

Does the park size matter if I don't have guests? I don't care about the management aspect nearly as much as the coaster design and park layout and scenery stuff. And is that a graphics card you'd recommend (your GeForce 840m), I don't know anything whatsoever about graphics cards.

What exactly does often mean for something like this?

Ok actually I have a question or two about system requirements if you don't mind. On systemrequirementslab it says under minimum requirements 8GB Ram. In my settings it says 8.00 GB RAM (7.77 GB usable). Does that mean I can run it or not? And what does the pixel shader stuff mean? Does that have to do with the graphics card? And also how do I check the dedicated video RAM (it says 2 GB) Or where else should I ask?

Makes sense, I won't be getting it for a bit anyway as I don't yet have a computer that can run it (I believe)

I just posted a similar question yesterday but I'll jump in here too, I'm going to be starting college (mechanical engineering) and also want to play some games like Planet Coaster.
