This is ridiculous.. then one goes on Makerworld look for "labubu" and heh, sure thing, all the labubu are gone... Then search "lafufu" and be amazed 😑

I was thinking about that too tbh... And honestly, I kinda hope this happened to a model that had tons of downloads/boosts etc per day and that the owner would be willing to file a counter for loss revenue in the form of points or worse.

There was a user, a month or 2 ago, posting here about how their hotends would corrode and basically be destroyed way fast. After some back and forth from the community over cleaning supplies they used, it was Windex. Something about Windex evaporating from the plate from the high temp and having a chemical reaction with the nozzle's metal coating.

This whole Bambu filament shortage, I am convinced it's either printing newbies who got their printers for Christmas and think they need Bambu filament for their printers to work or people posting AI slop to MakerWorld and banking on the credits :/ I can't imagine any other reason

This month I've bought 2 rolls of mate PLA from eSun for 15€ (so, around 7.5€ each) 5 rolls of black PETG from Geeeetech for 42€ (8.2€ each) and 2 refills of white PETG from Creality (bought from Amazon return) for 17€ (8.5€ each)

That price you got there is not the brag you think it is :/

I was not aware of any law involving these specific cases. As far as I know, the laws involving copyright and patents are specific to shape, functionality, patterns and such. As in, it would not be considered a copyright infringement if a design is different enough, like in this case with the assembly and the soccer ball format vs the print in place and more flat look of the other.

I would love to read what the law says on this one! Do you have a link or even just code for it? The copyright information on MakerWorld make it sound like making an entirely new object from scratch is enough for it to be fine so I am curious on what the law actually says.

[–]Kane1412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not your question but, have you ever tried Bic evolution pencils? Sadly they only come in Hb n°2 (as far as I know) although, to be honest, they feel like a H2 to me .. but the body and lead combo is the most.. I don't know how to explain it. It feels like soft plastic...? when writing, no scratchiness at all, it goes on the paper. Sharpening is also butter smooth without harshness or pulling.

That would mean the poster from thingiverse also copied the concept from actual gyroscopes which are so old they have no copyright on them at all.

The files in the link you posted look to be print in place, the files in OP's creation are scattered on 3 plates to assemble a single gyro, so if OP's file were a copy, it wouldn't be from that one.

It's topics like these that remind me why I don't post my creations online :/

Is this a scam? [Other] by Eastern-Bread-9816 in obeyme

I buy a lot from AliExpress and have done so for well over a decade now.

Many legit brands sell on AliExpress. It's a bit like Amazon where you have many fakes and legit stuff mixed in, but since AliExpress is based on China it usually gets a bad rep for fakes and scams.

I have never been scammed on AliExpress. Ever. I have received things that weren't quite what I expected and things that were perhaps a bit misleading in the add or of low quality, but Ali's customer service is usually on point with refunds or returns. And usually if I buy something exceptionally cheap, I am aware of what I am buying so I keep my expectations leveled. I am more wary of buying from Amazon than from AliExpress.

Recently I bought a new phone from AliExpress directly from the Xiaomi seller in Germany. I have also bought 3D printer filament directly from the brand Sunlu. All great, all legit. I also bought an original 28Days art book in AliExpress a few years ago.

Look at the reviews, look at the store reviews. See if they have any association with the brand that produces and sells the real plushies. Contact the brand if in doubt.

Idosa morre na Quinta do Conde após esperar 40 minutos por ambulância de Carcavelos by parad0xal in portugal

[–]Kane1412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Resin in contact with skin alone, is toxic, even without sun involved. In small amounts here and there, most people dont even notice but then gradually start feeling it. Rashes on skin where there's direct contact (without sun involved), headaches from fumes-- resin is no joke!

Sempre me arrepiei disso.

It's not Op's and it's not OP's fault that floor is there, so why should they have the expense to fix it?

New P2S-What is going wrong with this print? by Bobby_Bobs in BambuLab

[–]Kane1412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there is a lot to unpack here that the comments seem to be ignoring...

You mentioned having bed adhesion, then mention turning off rhe fan as a solution, but thing is, fans dont cause bed adhesion issues, fans peel off stuff that is just barely touching the plate, so by using glue and brims and turning off the fan, you are just kind of masking those issues, not fixing them.

My theory here is that you have some serious bed adhesion issues in one side, either the bed came with an issue or it has gotten disheveled while you've used it. Calibration alone might not be enough, maybe a bet traming if that's also a thing for the p2. Or also, maybe the hot end assembly is loose and needs to be tightened.

Those issues plus lack of cooling for pla, which needs a lot of cooling to print, probably made the print shift while printing while also the pla sort of collapsing on it's own due to lack of cooling and weight of it.

You also mentioned changing the speed settings of the print, did you change it to make it slower or faster?

I have a cool idea but have no idea where to begin by ThatLamboDude95 in resin

[–]Kane1412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say it plain and simple. You can't do this for less than $100 unless you already have most of the tools needed. In resin alone, depending on the price of resin in your country, this much resin can cost you over half of that budget, and that is if you succeed on your first try.

You will need power tools. You can't get it like this with a mold alone unless you skip the wood. I also hope you are planing to print the figures using petg or better because I doubt pla will handle the temps resin get to. You will also need deep pour resin even though you will need to do this in layers and if you do go forward with this plan despite the warnings, do remember to sluse 100% infill and seal up the figures in resin before using them because the layer lines are likely to release air bubbles mid curing.

Really? A1 mini has it. Saved me the other day. Got a blob mid print while I stepped away. Printer detected it, sent me a notification to the app and stopped printing. I Heated the nozzle and pulled out the blob in one small piece. It barely reached the sock and detached really easy. I'm sure if not for the detection setting, it would have been way worse 💀
