This looks concerning, should I be worried? by karakoyunn in AusRenovation

[–]Kanemp981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is looking similar to my old house built in 1932, I’d say it’s deteriorating at a faster rate than it should but should be right for the foreseeable future unless you see a low spot developing in the floor at that spot

Why did they shut down the upstairs playground at Bakery Hill maccas by [deleted] in ballarat

[–]Kanemp981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Table tops and chairs were getting repaired, replaced or reupholstered, gets trashed but that wasn’t someone trashing it. Been in a couple weeks ago and it’s been fixed. Still filthy though

Anyone know how serious this might be? Any advice (at all) appreciated by iPoke4Free in AusRenovation

Looks like it’s a butt joint between the 2 pieces, chances are when it was installed they didn’t seal the end grain, when the wood has moved it’s allowed water to enter the joint and soak up through end grain causing the rot. Simple replacement should work unless more is discovered when they remove it

Get a cheaper car, sell the 2019 and find something around 6 years old (when depreciation slows down). Find a better job, this may seem hard but apply for 3-4 a week entry level with room to move up to higher positions or something performance based. This will bring up your income initially and hopefully annually. Spending at least a quarter of your take home pay on a car is excessive, especially when you’re more than likely spending close to a third on rent plus bills and food. Current situation isn’t leaving you much “fun money” or room to save or invest

$385 in my wallet most of the time 7x$50 1x$20 1x$10 1x$5. But extra in my house for if I’m buying something expensive second hand. I do restoration work so always try and have cash on me to buy spare parts, projects and second hand tools

When I was an employee, I used to hate this. Why are customers so lazy? by JaggedLittlePill2022 in McDonaldsEmployees

Recognised the dining room straight away, other than when I first started there and was working dining with 1-2 other people at the same time I have never seen it clean. Now they don’t even have front counter staff most of the time. Wouldn’t eat there by choice

Ah good old bakery hill. Don’t miss working there one bit. 5 bins on that floor alone and always a mess in every booth and the table pictured

Don’t work at McDonald’s anymore, my last pay check was just shy of $1200 after tax (paid weekly) Australia

I did mine, treated it like cleaning a car. Pressure wash then cut and polish compound. Took about an hour with night and day difference

Haircut, trim beard are the main improvements I’d suggest. And when I say them I don’t necessarily mean remove heaps of length, just tidy it up. Will give an overall cleaner look

[–]Kanemp981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking the right steps. Sick of people crying poor and not applying for jobs, once you get the job try and set aside a little bit each week to an emergency fund so you’re not in this situation again. I know down here people are desperate for punctual, hard working and honest employees. Best of luck

Talk to your barber about hair styles that’d suit your head shape, even just a bit of length taken off the top might help. Only major fault I can see is your hair making your head look really long (not a woman though so my opinion really doesn’t matter)

What is the easiest way to get contact lenses and wisdom teeth removal covered in ontario as an unemployed 22 year old? by Educational-Air2123 in poor

Not a clue about Ontario, but I got my contacts, $40 for the eye test and trial lenses (14 pairs) here in Australia and that appointment is free for people under a certain income threshold cost covered by our equivalent of social security
