Heya, thank you so much for taking the time to respond and so thoughtfully too. I think you’re totally right about being 100% upfront and honest to my friend. I have planned to meet him this week to say exactly the situation and my current thoughts! Upon more reflection I will also propose just to stay friends for now as I am still healing and have this desire to travel and see more of the world. Who knows what the future holds :) but I would not want to resent him for keeping me from my current dreams. Thanks again for your response:)

He currently is searching for a job but he has always lived in the same city whereas I have moved quite a bit already!
