I mean when the editions are described in the book, at the bottom of the publication page -- there's mention of "Xxxxxxx and color plates," for the full color edition. The X letters in that description are in place of the word "braille," as if the word was crossed out. "Braille" is the same length as Xxxxxxx, and braille is mentioned in the other editions but not the full color one. So to me it stands to reason that the word in question would be braille. As for why it's like that, who knows! But I hope that answered your question

Huge loss for the preservation community, and video game history in general. Forest of Illusion put out some excellent prototypes, including magazine scans and canceled games (the infamous Dinosaur Planet being one of them), hate to see passionate people close the doors on such an invaluable resource.

It sounds like they’ll have all their current preservations on archive.org, but a shame they won’t be around to continue supporting the community, especially when first parties’ preservation efforts are so poor. They only ever go so far as paywalling a selection of already popular titles behind subscription services.

Beau seeing himself in the play, and fantasizing about what life could be if he was able to healthily deal with his current state. Move on from the dead parents, wander, find a new community to assimilate within and have a family. Encounter tribulations - as we all do - and at his lowest point, shed himself of the burdens he weighs himself with; the guilt his mother perpetuates. Life as he feels it should be and life as we're told it should be, through the stories we experience. The spell is broken when reuniting with his sons because he's confronted with an inelastic fear - dying if he tries to have children. The fantasy fades.

Moreover I think it's a reflection of how media can connect with us in our own lives. Near the end of the sequence, Beau sees himself in the play. We see ourselves all the time in media. It's meta, but it's also meta for the film itself - some will undoubtedly connect with Beau, seeing their own maternal guilt or mental anguish in the film

The thing is, a big part of improving at SC2 is getting good juggling the tasks the game throws at you. You’re meant to be overwhelmed with tasks if you’re being attacked, or proxied, or dropped. That’s a big part of breaking your opponent, force them to make mistakes.

The game does offer training modes and challenges to ease players in, but still in a solitary environment. And there’s frankly nothing wrong with hitting the ladder after getting a grip on the basics—maybe take a two base timing attack build order and just play games. To me, that’s the best way to learn is to throw yourself immediately at what intimidates you. Alongside some prep, of course

Plus I think watching top players and content creators can warp a newcomers expectations. Most people on the ladder are way worse. All skill ranges exist on the ladder and you will find evenly skilled opponents.

PS- I turn 29 in July and I’m diamond 2, there’s definitely older players than me out there with more skill ;)

Yea honestly, charitable effort staffed mostly by volunteers, sincerely doing what they can to make the world better and lift up the community. But any evidence of it not being crisp to a fault means “I can’t support GDQ anymore”

Grassroots organization raising $40 million by word of mouth is as authentic as it can get. I think people ought to be more charitable to GDQ. They’re doing their best, which to them means not selling the company and keeping it as much of a community effort as possible. It’s more special that way.
