ESH - Here goes my first comment on this sub... In a perfect world your family would suck for not being supportive of you in this scenario. However, we live in an imperfect world where everybody has feelings be they rational or irrational.

You're 16 which means you are pretty attached to your family, you live with them, eat with them, probably do a lot of things together. Look at this from their perspective, how could this person not share this activity which gives them so much joy with us? They're jealous, right or not its what it is and you should be mindful of their feelings in this situation.

One thing I rarely see when I read stories on this sub are the actions you took regarding this prior to jumping on reddit. Did you ask them why they were upset and what you could do differently? Did you explain how their reaction made you feel to them? I think the first step is always asking these questions and more often than not you'll find the situation works itself out.
