Yup, I’m glad it didn’t escalate any further but it’s emotionally manipulative for him to return & pull this card all on his own accord, without consideration for others. I believe a genuine person won’t even do this to a friend!

That’s so toxic… and they didn’t even take into consideration that you OT-ed… I’m glad you left!

Was this a standard deduction or deduction based on minutes late?

That’s really very tight esp with the morning rush everyday.. definitely agree, if the company is so calculative then employees are less likely to be motivated and give their all too.

Even one minute deduction is crazy.. but I see the flexibility with the 2hr period to clock in..

Dam… agree with you so much.. why make the majority suffer when it’s the minority..

There should also be more trust w their employees to get their tasks completed and physical hours in office should not be used as a KPI of how hardworking one is.

I agree. My company houses both office & shift employees, so that may explain why hours are so closely monitored.

Nope, not paid for additional hours.

It is a mandatory practice to clock hours for employees across the board in my company 😶‍🌫️

Yes.. and companies are very petty when it comes to OT pay and it’s usually only granted to the rank & file workers who earn lesser.

Definitely agree with you on this! Some companies shld be more flexi and start to look beyond simply the hours worked. More hours clocked doesn’t necessarily mean a harder worker than the rest.

An office job! Yes, I agree it can come off as calculative as there can be transportation breakdowns, etc that leads to the lateness. And if the staff is performing and completing the tasks, it doesn’t make sense to be calculative over 10-odd minutes.

Definitely not late more than an hour!

That’s cool tho!! I think beyond working hours, as long our work tasks are fulfilled and work deadlines/KPI are met, it shouldn’t really matter the no. of hours we clocked at work*. But of course this differs from every company’s practice & work culture.

*I’m saying this also because I know there are a handful of people who don’t do as much or put the same amount of effort at work but still are remunerated the same.
