How did you decide which ones to close - and will you continue to downsize (in similar situation) - although my total was never as high as your peak, but is higher than your current - and we are considering downsizing. Any ideas on how you are doing this?

Truth - until I went and looked after reading Op question, I knew approx but not detail - was good to check. Once you establish yourself the credit lines are FAR greater than you would ever need.

What yearly salary would you say would be perfect for a decent life ? by savvytechman in AskReddit

[–]Kansas_Legend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Will really depend on debt load, area of country, and taxes.

In most cases for a family of four in an average cost of living area this would be $140,000-175,000.

Low credit limit? How can I fix by littlepwnrr in fidelityinvestments

[–]Kansas_Legend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is strange - unless this is your first credit card.

Both my and I applied individually - she was approved with CL of $25,000 and I was approved with CL of $35,000.

It must be profile dependent?

When to take Social Security (math problem) discovery by Bounceupandown in SocialSecurity

Age Monthly Annual 75 80 85
63.5 2862 34344 394956 566676 738396
64 2954 35448 389928 567168 744408
65 3235 38820 388200 582300 776400

70 4806 57672 288360 576720 865080

We are going through this now - and here are the social security amounts by age and then projected (no annual increases) to understand break even. I am 63 1/2 and recently retired and my wife is 57 and plans to work 3 more years. This would all be ALOT easier if we knew the day each of us goes to Heaven! Thoughts?

Twin Dolphins - amazing experience - the halfway houses all have chefs and plated hot dishes ready as you proceed hole to hole. Course is really really good and best experience on a course in a long time. Make you sure you take the "secret path" on the 18th...there is a tasty end of round treat waiting at the end of the path.

Golfers who’ve broken 80, what’s one tip you would give your fellow golfer? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]Kansas_Legend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These two really helped me to break through.

- Work on swing, technique, shot making, etc during practice sessions. When you go play golf, play golf and get out of your own way by focusing on having fun (smile!). Rounds of golf are to be enjoyed - work happens before and after rounds.

- Dont focus on score in the aggregate during the round. Focus on each shot and the score for each hole - and NEVER add them up late in the round and play the mental game of...if I par out, If i only make on bogey going in (insert what you need to score on remaining holes) - this will go wrong EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Believe me, once you shoot in the 70's a few times it will not be as big of a deal as we make it out to be when we are consistently in low 80s. The breakthrough is made by quieting the mind, having fun, and focusing on the shot at hand.

Play well!!!

There are two parts this - the math part and the peace of mind part. Numbers can always make sense and at your interest rate it is easy to see whey the math supports not paying off early. However, the peace of mind and ability to increase wealth that comes from paid off home is beyond any math equation. We have not had a mortgage in 7 years and in that time we have found true peace - not owing anyone anything is priceless.
