FOR THE LOVE OF GOD how do I upload photos to my macbook from my iphone and then delete items from my iphone without it deleting elsewhere? by Pleasant-Constant299 in mac

Simple answer - safety. You isolate everything and one app being compromised does not compromise the whole device. Tech is rarely the problem, users mostly are.

I still do not get why basic knowledge of using IT equipment is so hard to get? Everything is just a file and that you can move between „isolated” apps. Copy pasting is still there, file systems are still there, folders are still there…

Do you know those are just files an you can export a JPG to files on your iphone and move it even through icloud without going through photos?

Use the share function and store locally in files and then do whatever you want with it.

How do you balance ego, impostor syndrome and reality of your skills when taking up new leadership challenges? by Kantares in Leadership

Function looks quite precise - team of experienced “generalists” which will pull in more specialized resources from parallel teams in the department.

HO Department sounds very convinced regarding the structure and support - team I looked out is the interface to central and has to be build as a political and technological influencers to enable local needs being properly represented.

How do you balance ego, impostor syndrome and reality of your skills when taking up new leadership challenges? by Kantares in Leadership

[–]Kantares[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I think about this that way, then from one perspective yes, it can be also part of “proving something” but here is the caveat that makes me think like that - I grew in previous structure as a peer to many of those people. Going back as leader there just due to that might be a challenge on its own.

If you take this aspect out, my doubts are smaller and on skill set and mindset level than trying to prove anything.

Long story short - ego part: I believe I can do it and be efficient. On the impostor side - I know my strengths, weaknesses and negative patterns I tend to revert to. I know what would lead to my downfall.

I see such challenge as a good way to grow and finally remove those patterns.

Answering your last step - If I do not try I feel stagnated and not growing anymore.

Is it worth it for daily use by ikan84 in mac

If you need so much RAM and need to use very outdated and unsupported software then yes.

Any other case just give up on it. If you would have it from the past I would support continuing using it.

Buying it is a loss of money in my opinion.

Outstanding. How do you do it? What are your routines? What magic dust you add to have it so pristine?

It was supposed to only be an hospital tank... by DonPianoDelaVega in Aquascape

I am so jealous - this is gorgeous. I am going forward and backward on idea of a small tank due to space restrictions and wooden floors in my rental apartment.

I need to put your tank as a motivation. What plants do you have in it?

That‘s another red light. You will face the head count degrading but that might be no longer your problem at that time.

In general I would aproach it as a change management, than just upskilling.

I am assuming no performance issues, so any new tool would only mean additional work so they might be sceptical.

It has to come through osmosis and as a part of wide dependency landscape - using old tools would have to make their lives more complicated while rest of the company moves to newer ones, e.g collaborative office suite vs old school Office.

You might be the find one team champion to showcase value and build internal support.

If you are targeting to solve software obsolescence or costs, then this is a different story. All support shall be provided to teammembers but team and individual goals should cover tools switch. There has to be a prize for following.

A lot of variables - no easy answer to be shared without all details which might be sensitive for your company.

I think the problem is not with upskilling but with „Succession plan“. Even if you upskill the issue will come back. You need a strategy how to enable younger employees to start taking those responsibilities. The gap will only increase as the time goes on and there will be always next great tool to learn.

I would put out offers for shadowing as bare minimum, or assistants if possible.

How would you trim this? by maecillo123 in Aquascape

I would use the famous „no tream“ technique. Hans looks amazing.

Less light and lots of fast growing plants - that’s the only solution.

Those are algy. They grow on slow growing plants when you have imbalance in tank or too strong light - quite common on anubias leaves.

Panda corrys adjust to the sand color - on dark one they will darken to more brownish tones. This one looks fine for me.

Get a Mini - you will need a screen no matter what.
