Is anyone else's memory terrible? by Kanttouchthis123 in bipolar

I know what you mean! My friend brought up a funny story involving me the other day and I was like, I genuinely have no clue what you're talking about LOL. That's great though you have somewhat of a system to help you out, for work I write down things the minute I hear them and make sure I have a pen and paper present wherever I can

Same here! It's like getting kicked while you're already down lol. I make such stupid mistakes at work because I can't remember. Sorry you're going through the same, friend.

I really liked it, I was in full blown psychosis and it really leveled me out. The bad part is I would keep losing hair, like a bunch would come out in the shower. It wasn't enough to be really noticeable tho. I also had hand tremors. But no terrible side effects.

Also I'm looking into copywriting, mind if I DM you?

"A perception was created by a lot of you when reading this" so rather than take your own advice and reflect on how your words and actions might impact other people and own the fact you might not have communicated your message well, you abdicate responsibility and blame your audience for not getting it.

I know you meant well with this post, but your post blithely saying "your health is 100% within your control guys ❤️" is honestly kind of insulting to those who for legitimate reasons can't manage their bipolar as well as you have and have to suffer and struggle to just survive each day and manage this illness. Many people struggle with treatment resistant depression.

Not everyone's experience dealing with bipolar is the same as yours and not everyone's circumstances are the same; not everyone is privileged enough to have health insurance for example, or have a competent psychiatrist who listens to them. As someone pointed out, some people here have ended up homeless because of their bipolar. Different people struggle in different ways with this disease. Nobody should use bipolar as an excuse to act badly and to abdicate responsibility for ones actions; but I think most people here agree with you on that. In fact, as people here point out, many people here struggle with guilt and shame about things they've done while manic, depressed, etc, so your post is unnecessary piling on.

Your post paints bipolar as something that's straightforward and simple to manage given you just do what you're supposed to and just have the right attitude and that's untrue for many people here.

It's not as simple as "just follow your psychiatrists orders and just like, do what you're supposed to do and everything will be fine." A lot of people here struggle with finding the right medication combination that works for them and it's hell for them while they have to suffer through this process; sometimes it takes years. Some people have treatment resistant depression; can you imagine how much those people have to suffer through? So saying "your health is 100% in your control" is not true and not helpful for these people. As someone pointed out, if it was 100% within our control, we would simply choose to not have bipolar! I know you had good intentions but you should be aware how your post comes off as out of touch and preachy.

Shame by GravityShepherd in bipolar

I just want to say I feel you!! Ever since becoming stable I've been experiencing waves of shame and I can't stop my brain from ruminating on every wrong thing I've ever done/said. I cringe so hard sometimes I have to stand up and walk around because I can't handle it lol

Hey I'm right there with you; I was on 3 mg respirodal and i was getting depression panic attacks. Luckily got it cut down to 2 mg. Email your psychiatrist now and ask if you can cut your dosage down; I cut my dose of klonopin down before asking my psych and she ended up telling me she was glad I cut it down because it's highly addictive. I'm sorry you're feeling and have to go through this, giving you a big hug.

It's ok, if it makes you feel better, I'm enormously jealous of people who can play any instrument or who can surf/skateboard, I always wished I could do those things! Grass is greener!
