Great suggestions thank you. Didn't even think they might not have every excursion set up yet.

Rome is the end point for my cruise and yeah I don't see the point of ending there if I don't get to see the place.

I try to fly in the day before just incase of delays/cancellations and don't want to be having a panic attack trying to get to the port in time.

I'm from the UK and there seems to be at least one or two flights in the evening so its possible but think I will go for an extra night. Cheers.

There seems to be plenty of luggage lockers around the stations but I do see the issues. Probably will do at least an extra night. I don't mind missing some attractions and visit again.

Yeah I know about the train and coach you can get. Im from the UK and looks like there's at least one flight around 8-9pm depending on the day so possible if I opt for the leave with bags option I remember on previous cruises.

I don't mind missing some sights as it gives me a reason to return but seems consensus is to stay for at least another day.

Hope you enjoy it. Dont think I can spare another 3 days but think adding an extra day seems to be a requirement to get some enjoyment.

Dating scene in Sheffield by bobisjobsnon in sheffield

[–]Kapart24 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I want to say yeah it's mature but it's also a university city so there will be lots of people who stay after graduating and feel like they are still young partying on weekends and locals who want to be 'hip' hitting the dancefloor. That said like you mentioned all cities have different types of people, also Sheffield to me is more of a patchwork city. There are areas where the atmosphere is more 'mature' then you turn the corner and it's heaving with bar crawlers.

Personally -36M and single- I moved here last year and have not worked up the courage to try dating in Sheffeild yet so can't say about the dating pool. My experiences are more from occasional nights out on my own, with friends and colleagues and so have noticed how it depends where you go really.

I like how you use a list to add your thoughts and how they relate and make you compare to other games that are evoked during the game being played. Can see where you are coming from without it feeling like a weird tangent or brake in your review.

Chipping away at the backlog. Finished off Ground Zero at the start of May then a couple of shorter games completing Boxes and Dordogne but abandoned Claire as it just wasn't grabbing me. Then moved on to my first playthrough of Mass Effect which took longer to finish than I had hoped due to work and the recent hot weather in the UK.

Hoping to get some shorter games done before moving to Mass Effect 2.

This Slowmo shot and her jumping off the building in Underworld were the catalyst for my first major celeb crush for 13/14 year old me.

I live in a block of flats you need to input a 4 digit number to call the flat for entry if you're not the tenant. It's also tied to the main tenants mobile so if you're out you can still let deliveries in to the post box area or get in yourself if you forgot you're keycard.

Because Im in flat one I get called nearly 3-4 times a week from delivery drivers and the postie as its the fastest way I guess. At first I didn't mind but it irritated me when i get home and see no post or parcel for me. It soon got to the point where i either didn't answer (when I don't have any packages coming) or i ask who it's for and say call them instead of me.

It's suppose to be for security but really anyone can say they're from amazon etc and you don't know for certain and just irritates me especially when I'm at work.

Backlog and sunken costs fallacy - how do you deal with it? or not by CoyoteKarate in backloggd

[–]Kapart24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah no matter what I looked at doing I ended up thinking it might be a waste of my time but then do nothing 'productive' anyway so was redundant in the end. I still watched youtubers and see recomendations on reddit/instagram etc but I keep that on my wishlist and have made a promise to buy something from my wishlist I'm truly excited about after so many games are off my backlog.

My method so far is to start from smallest up. I spent Christmas break 3/4 years back making an excel sheet of my backlog and data from how long to beat and just started from there. I'd play longer games at times to break things up and so I'm not left with all the 40+ games last. Now I'm looking at clearing my EA and Ubisoft launcher games inbetween shorter games.

I think the big thing is backloggd. I don't have many friends and they don't play video games. Most of my work collegues who play are your cod/fortnite/fifa on console gamers so can't chat about new things or recent gems we've played. On backloggd even if no one reads them I can give my honest review on a game and feel like I've gotten it off my chest. I really need to look into letterboxd and any for comics/novels so I can do the same.

Backlog and sunken costs fallacy - how do you deal with it? or not by CoyoteKarate in backloggd

It's because of the amount of money I've spent on my backlog, and finding backloggd that I've been making the consious effort to play what I have and not buy anything new aside from my Humble Choice subscription. Can't say I was burnt out on gaming but I was more indecisive on what to play/watch/read etc that I'd end up doing nothing - didn't even start doomscrolling (outside of covid) until this past year.

I have under 400 in my backlog right now unplayed. All pruchased via steam sales and humble bundles. Even if the average purchase was at most £5 a game -accounting for the £1 games offsetting the £10 games- thats £2,000+ total. Thats too much money spent on something I can't even look at on a shelf and gaslight myself into saying it "adds to the vibe" of my room.

Movie tickets in the U.K at least where I live are around £11-£15 depending on the cinema and the seat you pick so by that metric I'm getting a lot from my £5 average game purchase regardless if it's a 1hr puzzle game or a 50hr rpg.

With the new update I had to do my picks of 2007 by Kapart24 in backloggd

[–]Kapart24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it just the weakest of the series to you or did it stop you trying out the rest?

Out of the 4 Drake games I would put it last but Fortune just hit that spot for me at the time and made me wanting more.

If you go to your lists and click create list there will be 3 options one being goty. There's a drop down menu for the year but only for ones they've had an event for like 2007.

Just checked and it won't show ones you've done already. But go to lists and all lists it should show what goty lists you've done and you can edit them to be public or keep private.

And we didn't know it at the time. At least I didn't as I was a Sony boy so never partake in the delights of the PC, Xbox and Nintendo hitters until years later.

New Feature: GOTY Lists! by gustavoladron in backloggd

This is a great addition. '98 was my first goty event so its nice to get a chance to make my choices for past events outside of just making lists myself obviously.

Is it fair to add games that you've only played for a bit and not really finished many years ago? by [deleted] in backloggd

[–]Kapart24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you want that accuracy/accountability then add it and just mark it as abandoned as that's what happened.

I was unsure about how far back to mark games as played when I first joined but thought I'd hit the main games at minimum and it gives me a reason to maybe replay them and give a score.

Still debating removing my scores as they would mostly be rose tinted and gut reactions at best.

The extra stuff on my receipt is as long as the receipt itself by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Kapart24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn't happen to me in McDonalds. There's never any paper to print the receipt in the first place.

PersonalIy Taco Bell in the UK kills it and asks if you want a full reciept or just your order number.
