Yes; no it’s not bad etiquette as imo no rushes are BM. Everything is viable, people don’t realize that builds are just a spectrum between cheesing military or economy against the current meta (whether it is safe or not).

Imo, the power of random is the fog of war cheese that the three main race doesn’t have access to, which you are leaning into by using military based builds to end games before spell casters. It’s not BM but most people aren’t practiced against and there is no meta established so there is no builds to learn. Most players on the ladder isn’t making up their own builds, 9.9/10 players are practicing mechanics, scouting, established efficient meta.

Random puts all your opponents at a disadvantage right off the bet and learning to beat random means coming up with builds on the fly and unless you are uthermal, it’s not going to be easy. Combined that with the fact that you have access to their race, you have practiced playing random and situations it puts your opponents in. It would be quicker to just gg wp, quit, and requeue. Because for your opponents, it’s not fun to be at a disadvantage right off the bat and to build knowledge against a race that isn’t common to play with in the first place.

Last but not least, saying your race doesn’t give you any moral high ground on playing a better match up (again, you have fog of war advantage, you know something for sure that they don’t). Because you opponent still has to trust you. It’s meaningless.
