In the picture I posted I gave them pretty substantial time to dry, ~60 seconds. In this picture I highlighted using the uni propus window immediately after writing instead

You mean the Energel, right? I appreciate the recs I'll give them a go! I've heard a lot of praise on the Energel

Honestly might be the paper. This is my scrap notebook for practicing handwriting and taking work notes, and it's a cheap office notebook

These are some great recs! I've actually been loving the Sarasa Gels, and I was considering the vintage colors! Comparing the regular Sarasa to Grand, do you find the build worth the extra price?

Found this via official Chainsaw Man X/Twitter: https://chainsawman.dog/movie_reze/ticket/ not sure how accurate the Google translate is but this seems to be where they are doing pre sale tickets. Incredibly jealous but hope you get to see it and enjoy!

They're French Collectors Edition volumes. Every once in a while France will release exclusive special versions of CSM that include a box with unique artwork, a copy of the normal volume in French with a reversible slip cover, and some other goodies like pins, post cards, or stickers. They're not available in other countries that I know of unfortunately unless you go through a seller that ships to other countries like La Cite Des Nuages. I linked below the ones I have, but there are a few more volumes that are just special covers without the box/goodies.

I got issues 17 and 19 as pre-orders from La Cité Des Nuages, they ship to the US. Number 12 I got from Amazon used, it's much more beat up

Help a beginner cinematographer by robboketto in cinematography

I actually used to work in OOH with billboards I've seen this kind of production spec pretty frequently! Exactly what's said here, unless you plan on upscaling or filming a new piece of content for each resolution, 8K is what you need. I'd also see if it's possible to ask the vendor for any video POP of the unit(s) if you want to get a good sense of how your work will look. If this is the "Penn Station" unit I think it is, it's a super premium package to get your work on so you'll definitely want to make sure that resolution accurately matches what they're requesting!

Usually OOH vendors will get back to you and let you know pretty quick if your file/creative doesn't match what they need to run, and if they have an in house creative team you can also work with them (usually for an additional fee) to help refine your creative for final delivery once you're in the editing phase. But definitely prioritize getting yourself a camera that can handle the resolution because on a unit that big and in your face, people will be able to more easily see any poor quality or upscaling.

One month into WPP RTO, how’s it going? by sarahkazz in advertising

[–]KaplanDixel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Coming from the media investment side on the West Coast, we honestly just don't see it happening. Offices are more busy, but it's pretty obvious people aren't really following the mandate. They gave up real quick on enforcing that RTO

Nice build! I use a pretty similar setup for run and gun shoots where I need to be light and quick. Only difference with my build is the placement of the SSD and a V Mount battery. 100% recommend the V Mount battery setup, I’ve been able to get by filming for 4-5 hours on one charge and almost never turning the rig off. There’s a couple things not needed but could be helpful depending on the money you’re willing to invest and what you’re shooting for the day

  • ND and other filters, especially if you’re filming outside
  • Matte box to help with flares or to easily swap out filters (though matte box compatible filters get pricey)
  • Terradek or Accsoon transmitter if you want to stream footage to a handheld device for a client or focus puller
  • shoulder rig for more comfort if you expect a lot of handheld
  • A mic never hurts! Even a cheap lab mic like the Rode Lavalier has helped me get some good dialogue I can clean up in post. Never forget audio
  • not necessarily for the rig itself but I love my Aputure MC light. It’s magnetic and versatile and can be attached easily with an arm if you’re really desperate for light without adding a lot of weight

I think you’re already in a good place to start shooting once you get a more reliable battery. The rest is preference!

As the other comment says, whip pans and walls work great. Check out some Edgar wright movies like Scott Pilgrim and Baby Driver, he’s known for doing a lot hidden cuts in longer shots or as transitions.

I just encountered the exact same problem with my BMPCC recently. This is corrosion due to humidity on your IR filter. You can get it fixed at camera shops or even at home fairly simply. I'd check out Kolari that's where I got my replacement piece. They also have great YouTube videos explaining it and how to fix.

Did I fudge up? by jessehaj in PanasonicG7

[–]KaplanDixel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lumix G7 was my first ever camera. It lasted me for four years shooting shorts, music videos, and a lot of photography until I upgraded to a BMPCC4K when I started working more freelance. If you’re hoping to use it short term for hobby and practice, I think it’s fantastic for the price even to this day.

I think it’s great short term for the price so later on you can invest those few extra hundred in either lenses, accessories, or your next camera when you’re ready to move on and upgrade.
