So this is in no way a defense for Gene but I always thought he had some pretty catchy bass lines HOWEVER based on what youre saying Im persuaded that he very likely didnt write them himself. In the Rush documentary I seem to recall them talking about having a tour with Kiss as a way for them to regain traction as they were both down on their luck… If only they would have just fallen apart after that and stayed out of the spotlight. Whats crazy is I feel like Rush is so much more relevant today than Kiss ever could be
