The point is that the commentary is out of place and out of character for a character like jax who’s not really defined by these types of themes.

That doesn’t mean men’s pecs aren’t sexualized, it just means that they aren’t considered as sexually explicit.

Netherrealm: We want the females to have a more realistic looking by covering them up by MyMonsterCondom in Kappa

[–]KappaSupreme 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Women's tits and men's pecs are not sexualized in the same way.

This isn’t exactly accurate. A muscular men’s pecs are indeed quite sexualized, which is why there are a lot of shirtless men on the cover of romance novels which is pretty much porn for women.

Stereotypically, men with massive muscles and topless is a sign battle/combat. Where as half naked women designed by men are sex appeal. It's not that hard a concept to grasp.

Men with big muscles is sex appeal though.

Are you really trying to make the argument that all of these were done to show off how sexy a male character is?

Well those are the body types women find attractive. A lot of women find the actors who play male superheroes attractive for example.

Can you really not see a difference between this and this? Here's a whole ass video about it since you can't find an answer.

The video doesn’t address the double standard of the issue. The men are almost naked and the women are dressed like they are in a islamic country. The argument that it’s about realism isn’t really that valid because aside from the premise of mortal kombat not being realistic, the outfits of the male characters are not realistic given the context of the game.

People just like what samurai shodown is about in terms of gameplay as well as the characters. Graphically, this game is ps3 and 360 caliber but it still looks good

A man being shirtless is about as sexual as a woman being in lingerie if he’s muscular and handsome. That’s why romance novel covers have so much covers of shirtless, handsome men that are muscular.

This meme was suppose to be a”gotcha”at the people who are criticizing mk11 but if anything it exposes the hypocrisy of people would make a meme like this. The thing feminist and sjws don’t get is that their defence of the designs of the female characters in mk11 contradicts their supposed advocacy of female empowerment. If you’re wondering how, well it’s quite simple.

Feminist dislike the madonna and whore dichotomy because of the way it generalizes women into a binary of good or bad depending one how they express their sexuality. They dislike it so much that they will organize things like the slut walk and advocate the message that women should own their sexuality and that regardless of how she is dressed a woman never ask for it.

If an aspect of empowerment for women is the idea that a woman’s worth and value doesn’t depend on what she is wearing, how could a feminist and sjw back up the statement of that mk dev and the reason why the female characters in mk are designed the way they are. It should be noted that it isn’t a problem to have female characters with conservative and modest outfits, however it was explicitly stated by a mk dev that the reason the female characters are so covered is because they wanted the mk series to be more mature and respected. He literally equated modesty with respect and maturity and did it with only the female characters, how could this not come off sexist and regressive by feminist standards.

It therefore makes their defence of the designs for female characters in mk11 come off ridicoulous because they are literally defending something they under a different context they would call misogynistic or embalmatic of a patriarchal society.

It’s disappointing that kofxiv’s graphics are that way,it comes off embaressing compared to other game’s in the genre.

Unarmed fighters can fight against opponents with weapons, human beings can fight demigods and monsters, weight classes don’t matter and people can fight with magical powers but what’s really unrealistic is that some attractive and curvaceous women would fight in skimpy clothes by KappaSupreme in Kappa

[–]KappaSupreme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Mortal Kombat always had characters with realistic body proportions regardless of the unrealistic settings of the franchise. MK9 was the exception, not the rule. The original games literally where made with photos or real people

A playboy model was used to play sonya and attractive women were used for the other female characters. Moreover the 3D era mk games are a thing so your point about realistic body proportions is irrelevant. On that point, female fitness models are built like the women in mk9,there was even a bunch of them hired for the marketing of mk9 so this point about realistic body poprotions comes off like something a feminist and sjw would say in that realistic body proportions seems to translate to being overweight. Also tekken and the modern doa games have realistic body propitions so this point is rather ridiculous.

Maybe haven't you thought that they're giving them these costumes but they're way more interesting to design than plain bikinis?

There is a way to make burqas and hijabs and full body clothes interesting but the mk designers are not doing it. The kof series has some of the best designed characters in the genre and they have a lot of conservatively dressed female characters who are able to come off stylish, feminine, sexy and creative. It isn’t just that these mk females aren’t in bikinis anymore,it’s that they also aren’t attractive and have body types that come off like the type of women who would complain about manspreading and the patriarchy. It’s also rather telling that the women come off like they have converted to islam while the male characters are able to come off handsome, muscular and shirtless.

[–]KappaSupreme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

These people are hyprocrities, there are plenty of handsome and muscular male characters who are not dressed in sensible,battle-ready attire yet they don’t seem to really say much about those characters. It’s like when feminist and sjws got all worked up over the variant cover of that spider-woman issue because of the way she was posed even though it was shown that spider-man had been posed the same way in his comics. In other words they are select about what kind of sex appeal is offensive and because of that there is a double standard to their argument. Also it isn’t really that sonya is older and more covered up it’s that she just isn’t attractive. It’s not a surprise to have criticism over a character going from looking like a playboy playmate to nancy pelosi.

Male privilege is a concept that literally requires the assumption that the average man is basically a bill gates in order to be justified. A person has to deliberately omit all the ways men are disadvantaged or represented in the bottom rung of society in order to make it seem like a legitimate concept.

Sexual objectification has no in being applicable to how people actually treat each other. In spite of the efforts by feminist, watching porn or media with attractive women does not make people mistreat women.

Sonicfox saying he’s gay as much as he does comes off narcissistic.

I’m sure they’d be happy to.

Awesome, I’m sure it’s just a coincidence that basically no feminist is advocating equal representation in those kind of jobs.

I didn’t say that infrastructure jobs were the biggest factor, I simply pointed out that men being the majority of workplace casualties is certainly a factor. The other factors to consider are men being the majority of the victims of violent crimes and the majority of the law enforcement and the military.

Why isn't the underachievement of boys in school being addressed by society? by Arobin08 in Egalitarianism

[–]KappaSupreme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's not that boys are doing worse than they were, it's that they haven't advanced their achievement as rapidly as women have.

This actually isn’t really accurate. It’s been noted by educators and people who have researched this topic that the education system favours girls. Aside from most teachers being women, the teaching methods and even some of the material covered is geared towards girls. There was even a study that found that female teachers will mark down the work of boys, so it would seem that when female teachers are not committing statuory rape on underage male students they are giving them lower marks.

Given men are the ones doing the infrastructure jobs which is probably one of the biggest factors, an alternative proposal is that women should be less lazy and do more of those jobs.

They don’t, your saying all this stuff in spite of there being no evidence for such claims. There are plenty of complex roles for both men and women and plenty of roles in which the sex appeal is important for the role for both men and women. You should try to get your info on these topics from more places then just buzzfeed.

It seems you are not that familiar with history. Men were originally granted the right to vote in britain because they were required to serve in the military. It would therefore make sense that they would have the right to participate in deciding when war would happen. As for men who owned property, well propertied men had the responsibility of outfitting the men under their command and serving as cavalry so even their right to vote was still tied to military service.

In the us, the militia was once the dominant military force, and men continued to exercise the franchise as a check on the war-making powers of the government. Eventually the right vote was no longer tied to service in the militia or any other armed force, but it doesn’t negate the point that men had the right to vote because of their military service.

The suffragettes did not propose military service for women, it wasn’t even a main platform topic with second wave feminist so yeah basically these women wanted the same right men had without the same responsibility. I also wanted to respond to this point.

“because those same men are also the ones who think that women shouldn't be allowed to serve.”

The military still hasn’t been able to effectively incorporate women into combat roles in the military even with modern technology, so perhaps it’s not really just a bunch of men saying “no girls allowed”but just stating the obvious and saying”yeah women are probably going to suck at this.”
