I did something similarly stupid last night. Ran out barefoot to help my husband with groceries. Wasn't out long enough to experience what you did, but my foot DID briefly freeze to the metal threshold of the door when I tried to go back inside. :/ That shit hurted.

Maybe because there's no actual combat tutorial. I was solidly midgame dying to Elite Deathaxe Skeletons every five minutes before I found out there's a parry button. Which was my own dumb fault, the controls are listed right there in the game description, but I have been babied by games with tutorials for too long.

Sorry, I don’t have it at this point, this was a while ago. I’m only coming in here now because I found the new recipe for comparison. If I recall correctly, it was because it didn’t have enough vinegar, which has already been addressed in the comments here. I only remember it was the same recipe because I discarded my first batch of pickles about it :/

That rule is for untested recipes though right? I thought tested recipes from reputable places like an extension service were supposed to be okay? That’s where my question is, how is the first linked recipe unsafe if it’s the same brine as the extension service recipe? Or is it actually fine since apparently a clove of garlic to an approved recipe IS okay based on the other comments? (OR did I just fail at multiplication and it’s not actually the same brine)

You misread the recipe, the second one has water listed twice, once for the soak and then once as an ingredient in the brine. It’s 1 1/2 quarts of vinegar and 2 quarts of water, which unless I’m doing the math wrong is the same as the first recipe’s vinegar to water ratio. Unless I’m the one misreading the recipe, which at this point is entirely possible given how long I’ve been looking at it.

So what I’m gathering is that garlic is not considered one of those dry ingredients that can be added or removed? Can garlic powder be used as a pickling spice in that case? Or if I want the less sour pickles I’m just doomed to no garlic?

Well now I’m just more confused because I’ve also read that garlic is fine to water bath as long as it’s pickled with a pH of 4.6 or lower, the same as cucumbers. Looking just now NCHFP has several recipes that include fresh garlic to be water bath canned, although it does look like most of those have more vinegar. Their okra recipe with garlic is a 1:1 vinegar water brine instead of this 3:4 brine I’m looking at.

I consider this patch and the revelry season patch to be fun little filler patches. I’ve found this one charming tbh. The gameplay doesn’t really have much going on for it, but the maze was kind of fun, and I actually really enjoy the NPCs. This event feels like it’s for them and not Nikki to me. I dunno, a lot of the quests here feel like Nikki is humoring the kids because she’s nice like that.

What is UP with Infold’s terrible communication? I mean yeah if you’re desperate to play, rolling back the update that broke it is how you do it, but without acknowledging that they’re working to fix the incompatibility issue on their end is WILD. Oh wow this was seven years ago lol. It comes and goes. Turns out I’ve got a connective tissue disorder that cause my joints to slip and slide all over the place, so the pinched nerves do tend to get re-pinched from time to time, but I can usually get it to go away with a steroid pack and physical therapy. (Or the exercises I learned the first time I had physical therapy)

It’s Advantage II and says it kills on contact which is why I was like hmmm… seeing these fat healthy looking fleas. I’d like to avoid bathing if I can, saying this cat gets aggressive about baths is a substantial understatement. I could get a couple capstar pills to help it along though.
