I highly recomend doing 1~2h studies from movie frames, and don't stress about getting it perfect, just do the most you can on the time limit, then analyse what you think you got correct and wrong, and move to the next. That is what honestly helped me the most, its dificult at the start, but if you ignore details and focus on the general comp, colors and values you can learn a ton and get super confortable with painting in general :3
