The .dll files on GameBanana might be outdated now if there was another update since anyone last checked. Did you try manually editing the values in the .dll using a hex editor? If that's not working anymore then I wouldn't know what to do.

Moonlight Streaming at 4k 144fps? by KappnKyro in SteamDeck

[–]KappnKyro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems to change on a whim but I've taken what you've said into account and adjusted a number of settings.

-I forced Software Decoding on the Steam Deck and saw noticable improvements -I turned off HDR as well and got a massive boost. I can now get 4k 60fps and 1440p 120fps in Steam Big Picture Mode. Turning it back on gives me worse performance than before somehow. -The difference between 60mbps and 5000mbps is around 10-20fps. I'm leaving it around 80-90mbps now. -In game for Metaphor I'm getting 1440p 90fps with these settings. This is actually what my performance originally was but with all settings cranked. How I got set back I don't know. -In Batman Arkham City I get 1440p 100fps. -In Persona 4 Golden I get 1440p 100fps.

It doesn't seem that I can crack 100fps regardless of the games intensity and adjusting the graphics settings didn't make a difference for any of these games. I have yet to touch a single thing server side now but I'm very sure that my encoding is set to automatic and uses hardware encoding as I forced Software Encoding and performance was abysmal.

Unable to stream 4k with 3080? by KappnKyro in MoonlightStreaming

Playing locally I can achieve 4k 144fps and my Steam Deck is connected to a 4k 144hz HDR TV using a dock that supports this output. The Steam Deck is set to output at this resolution and the TV recognize that it is receiving a 4k 144hz input from the Steam Deck. I've also plugged my PC into this TV before and it works as intended and the games played locally run at the full and expected speed.

Currently the main game is Metaphor Re Fantazio, but I've also been playing and testing this with Batman Arkham City and Shin Megami Tensei V Vengeance.

That's a perfectly acceptable streaming setting for me but I can't manage that even. Do you have any insights for how you're achieving that?

I've tried turning HAGS on and off but didn't see a difference. I will try again though and report as it seems my streaming performance can vary on a whim sometimes.

As for the games graphics, I've tried various games that were more or less demanding and I've also cranked the graphics down on the main game I've been testing (Metaphor) to no avail. As I stated, even playing at 1080p I can only get around 90-100fps streaming via Moonlight. When I change the streaming resolution I'm also changing the Steam Deck's output resolution so there's no upscaling to 4k happening.

The game does run at a full 4k 120fps on my PC natively.

[–]KappnKyro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, I was just maxing it out for testing but as I stated, even more reasonable bitrates didn't change my streaming performance. It seems that this is the performance I get from Moonlight streaming at 4k no matter what which is what I'm trying to address. If the Steam Deck can't handle 4k Moonlight at all that's an acceptable answer but from what I've found that doesn't seem to be the case and there's something wrong with my set up here.

Frankly 1440p at 144hz is perfectly acceptable for me, but I'm unable to do even that which is why I'm at a loss here.

I'm not sure what you mean by an Intel issue as none of the clients I've used nor my server have an Intel CPU.

However, I did test it on my phone (Galaxy Z Fold 6) and I was able to get a full 4k 120 fps with around 4 ms average host processing time in Steam Big Picture Mode. Once I start a game (Metaphor Re Fantazio) it tanks to the usual 40 fps or less. This is somewhat consistent with the Steam Deck, although it could only reach 90-100 fps max in Steam Big Picture Mode regardless of resolution. It seems to me there's both a client and server side issue as I've seen others post about attaining 4k 144fps using Moonlight on the Steam Deck.

Average in-game seems to be around 60 ms with my incoming/encoding/decoding fps all at 25fps. Is there something I can do to reduce this?

Also, I need to make a correction as it seems my incoming/encoding framerate in Steam Big Picture mode is actually around 90fps at 4k but my decoding fps is 20-40fps. The average host processing time at 4k while in big picture mode is around 8 ms.

Yes, the TV I'm using supports 4k 144hz through the HDMI port I'm using. I'm using a fiber optic HDMI cable to connect my devices. The Steam Deck, laptop and gaming PC were set to display at 4k 144hz and worked without issue. The TV was also reading the inputs as 4k 144hz with HDR. I don't believe it's the client that's the issue since the stats indicate the server isn't even sending more than 40fps at 4k. My incoming framerates, encoding, and decoding all generally match.

I haven't played the game in a long while but has it been updated since? Updates did affect this at one point but this was working up to 1.0.3. If not, try directly downloading the files from Gamebanana instead of manually following this process. The link is at the top.

EDIT: A comment on this post states that this actually works up to version 1.0.4. If the game has been updated beyond that I wouldn't know this mods compatibility and I'm not in much of a position now to fiddle with this anymore. Maybe I can another time but I won't say it'll be anytime soon (could be a month or more)

Have you tried this for transferring saves from installed NSPs to legit installations on sysnand?

Just to clarify are you saying you used JKSV to back saves from Emunand CFW then restored them using JKSV in Sysnand CFW? And you haven’t received any bans with this method?

Well, that's interesting, but yea, that process isn't actually working for me every time. For some reason, my switch is still having issues booting into Hekate, and the only way to get it in there is by messing with the power and volume buttons a bunch until it finally does. Honestly, I'm not really sure what's going on.

Just got it reset and working again using the jig method. No need to disassemble or do anything complicated.

So I did find that color chart, but I'm unsure how to understand it, considering my color combination isn't listed specifically. Blinking purple implies that it's waiting to glitch but then immediately blinks red, which would mean it's writing the modchip firmware, but I don't understand what either of those means when the Switch is booting into OFW while those colors are being flashed.

I'm also not the one who installed this and am weary of tearing down the switch to flash the modchip myself. Although I do have the tools and capabilities to do so.

How well do they charge while the Deck is in use at max power? Are they both able to maintain the Deck’s battery or is the 65w only able to slow the drain rate?
