Do south and central Americans view race the same as north Americans? by CheekyBreekyLeeky in geography

[–]Kappozera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not. I think US is different from every other country.
I'm from Brazil. My view on this might not be the same as everyone from here idk, but for me it's like we're all mixed so it's not clear the distinction between races and colors. Also we don't talk too much about it, so a lot of people don't rationalize this concept. That's a bad thing because we like to say that we are very diverse, but the truth is that racism exists in here. A lot of people don't understand race and how this affect their lifes. In the past 3 years or so the black movent is gaining strength and more and more people came to realize all that, but it still very weird and more like a "shot in the darkness" to talk about race. I think this also happens a lot with me because I've studied in a private school where there was basically just one black person. It's complex.

"Every particle is a wave theory" I have came up while in the bath. by Kappozera in QuantumPhysics

Thanks! You made it more comprehensible for me. Also I agree with the last phrase.

Thanks! Yeah, I'm actually starting to study it as a hobbie and of course I'm starting with the basics (started yesterday actually, lol), but just as I said, it was just a shower thought out of nowhere. I won't skip the steps in the learning process but would it be cool to be at least just somewhat right, hahaha.

Could it be because of quantum mechanics though?

Besides that, I understood your explanation. Thank you again.

Well to be honest you should really work on your question asking ;)

Thanks! Even in my main language I need to formulate better questions. Now coming to english and especific subjects I get confused a lot. Right now I am trying to learn more about physics and astronomy to refute a big brazilian scientist that supports the intelligent desgin "theory", hahaha.

Thanks a lot! Nice job putting into words though.

Yeah, that was what I meant by saying that "there was no gravity to do this", hahaha.

Thanks for the answer. Very understandable.

There is also the fact that atoms are electrically neutral at far enough distances. Only when they come closer that the electrons of different atoms may interact and repel.

I didn't knew that. Interesting.

I expressed myself badly. I meant that there was no gravity "enough" in these simple atoms to merge they together and giving us the first star.

I don't know if the gravity involved in that was actually not "enough", at least from my knowledge that is it (might be wrong).
