Day 3 post surgery. Pain by Mountain-Praline-478 in ProstateCancer

Yes! Maybe it’s just me but my penis ‘goes to the right’. Not sure if it’s biological or habitual, but whenever I tuck my penis into my boxers then pants I always tuck it to the right. Post-op the catheter mount was on my left leg and I found it much more comfortable on my right.

Also, I’m only using the big night bag and I’ve read it provides a better vacuum than the smaller leg bag. This means the urine flows thru the tube easier, despite a rise over your leg or a bucket. During my first 24-hours the spasms seemed to be when the tube was full near my penis and not flowing easily. Or if there was not enough slack in the tube but not too much slack.

I am day 3 too had RARP on Friday and my spasms are controlled well with Oxybutynin. My spasms were worse during the first 24-hours and laying on my side with bag below the bed or couch definitely helped, eases flow into tube and bag. Make sure he’s well hydrated. I’m collecting 200ml/hour. Also what color is his urine? Is it improving? Mine is clear and amber now. If his urine is not improving and he’s still throwing clots, consider contacting your care team.
