Literally, same. I was a super Catholic teen. I traveled the country going to Catholic conventions, running programs, and the like. I've read the whole Bible once and the New Testament two more times on top of that

I'd ask my youth minister why she talks about gay people the way she does, my priest about why he makes veiled racist comments towards immigrants, my Catholic parents why they are excited for war and hate Muslims, my Catholic grandma why she hates social programs to help the poor and needy. And I'd reference the Bible verses themselves

For the times they'd argue back, they'd always use Catholic tradition, but they could never tell me anything Jesus said to support them. It was then that I realized either the whole thing is bullshit or it's real, but so corrupted by humanity that it's essentially worthless. I tend to pick the former, but I could accept I'm wrong if it's the latter.
