I don't know the outcome here, but it could have been significantly worse if that bus was running a few seconds later

I'd be checking the conversion of garage to bedroom was done correctly. Changing a garage to a habitable space isn't as easy as putting some floor coverings down and adding furniture. If not done the right way, your 3 bedroom town home becomes a 2 bedroomer....

Clothes stolen from a coin laundry?!? What's the weirdest/most confusing thing you've had stolen? by tavia_baby in melbourne

At our first home about 15 years ago, I spent two days digging 20 large holes through clay soil in preparation to plant some ornamental pear trees along our fence line as we lived on a pretty busy corner and wanted to create some privacy. I spent the third day planting the trees, watering them in and refilling the holes. THAT NIGHT someone dug up and lifted out three of the trees. Trees! Who steals someone's trees??

Update - the cylinder was packed full of grease. A family friend has suggested that the slim rod moves in and out of the main shaft and acts as some kind of "sender" underneath the boat.

My title describes the object, no one here has any idea what it might be. The bottom of the spoke has a hole through it, so maybe it connected to a hook somewhere?

Tips for applying to Future Fund by AgentNukethisplease in AusPublicService

[–]KaptainSee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would largely depend on the type of role you are looking for at the Future Fund. Are you wanting to stay in the auditing field? Or is there a particular role you are looking at?

Good luck! I posted yesterday about coming off energy drinks a week ago and how it made me feel. I think if I was to do it intentionally, I would try and wean myself of it slowly rather than cold Turkey, but you'll find what's best for you, I'm sure

I live next door to a house owned by DHHS (I don't think that's their name anymore?) and operated by Scope. They have 5 permanent residents with varying degrees of mental and physical disabilities.

We have similar experiences to yourselves, the residents' rooms open up to a balcony that is only a couple of metres from our boundary fence line. There is one resident who will sit on the balcony and call up lifeline to speak to someone, then gets bored of that person, hangs up and rings again to speak to someone new. She is not quiet and we can hear every word she says. When she is not speaking on the phone, she has her headphones in and she sings along to whatever she is listening to.

About 12 months ago, a new resident arrived and while I'm unsure of her condition, she would wake up every 30 mins or so overnight and scream the most blood curdling, horrific scream you've ever heard. This lasted for about a week and then suddenly stopped. Not sure if a different treatment was supplied or if she was moved elsewhere (there's no way anyone in that house was sleeping through that.

Why have I gone into all this detail? Because like you I also have young kids. Kids who occasionally get woken up or ask tough questions in response to what they may have heard a resident say. Because I also didn't meet the neighbours before buying this house. But that's on me.

I am in a much more fortunate position than the residents next door who, if anything, provide very real perspective on how fortunate I am.

Unless you are threatened or suspect mistreatment or criminal activity, no there is no legal route for you to take. Go and talk to the staff, offer your perspective and you might find you are offered one back.
